Kimiko Sakato ~Reppin.Stylz~ I like ino's hair when it is halfway...I like her hair in the shippuden the bangs make her look great but sakura should change her hairstyle she should do smething dfferent with it kinda like this  xD Me too!

I think it was a symbol. She knew Sakura did it to show that it wasn't about impressing Sasuke.
And when Ino and her were in the Pre-lims, she was proving a point that when it came to being a ninja, it wasn't a beauty contest, especially to her rival. And by her making it seem like she was being irrational. She was able to tactfully use all of her hair, as a rope to hold her down. Which Ino knew from the beginning that she couldn't use Shintenshin no Jutsu without Shikamaru holding Sakura. So she used her brain and by Sakura trying to play to what she thought was her weakness, she was able to use it to her advantage.
So I don't think that by cutting her hair she was copying Sakura. I think of it as proving to Sakura that she is a serious Ninja and that she was going to fight Sakura seriously. I also think that she grew it out because it's her family trademark. Her father has long hair and so does she, and Ino has very much followed in her father's footsteps.
So by her growing out her hair it showed that she had changed, in a way that she has matured and that she was different then Sakura, who kept her hair short. It differs from Sakura's hair.
O.O Wow, I didnt mean for me to rant that long. XD

She looked fair with her hair tied up when she cut it, but I think that the way she has it in the shippuden and during the beggining of the series is the most attractive, although that much hair has got to be a lot of trouble to take care of.
