Hey there, I'm Dot.

I'm only 21 but it feels like I've been living like a twenty-something curmudgeon for years -- especially on the internet, where basic netiquette and grammar constraints are thrown out. I frequently ignore proper capitalization, but on Gaia I've made it a point not to do so.

I currently reside in southern California, splitting my time between working retail and (very slowly) heading for a degree in Journalism. At this rate I'll probably have my BA in, oh, a million years.

Some hobbies of mine include writing/reading, cooking, playing guitar/bass, going to concerts, watching movies, playing around with web design, and championing indie comics.

I'm honored to be part of a guild that is . . . um . . . old. Viva literacy and life experience!

Yeah, the internet has finally become a place where, after we are old enough to buy our own liquor, we feel like baby boomers. I know sometimes I hang my head in shame for having a MySpace (but hey, if you want to check it out, I have the same handle there as I do here).

What got you interested in journalism? I have a college friend who works for a newspaper. She's a really interesting and cool gal.
