Cannibalistic Suicide I have just one question to ask? Why do you think Slayer is Over-rated? I just can't grasp the concept of Slayer being over-rated. Oh and why do you think Metallica is better than Slayer? Is Slayer to much metal for your ears? Can you not take the Perfect distortion from Kerry Kings guitar. Are you too senstive? I think you are. Cause we all know that the only Thrash metal Albums from Metallica were the first 3. The others were Hard Rock and St. Anger was, infact, Nu-metal. Therefore whoever should mention of Post-Cliff Metallica should have their post deleted. Unless it is to state the facts wich I have today. Are you saying that "...And Justice For All" was not a legitimate metal album?

Are you saying that "...And Justice For All" was not a legitimate metal album? How are we so sure. I see no contribution from Cliff and Cliff was way thrash. And what mey be thrash to you is hard rock to me Your attitude is as if Cliff WAS the band. Hardly. I wholly acknowledge "...And Justice For All" as a thrash album, what with songs like Shortest Straw and Eye of the Beholder. Yes, there is an element of difference between this and, say, "Kill 'Em All." But that's because Metallica's sound was gradually evolving and getting more mature since that first album. And if you're going to accuse "...And Justice For All" for being a commercialized album, then I contest that you would have to label "Ride The Lightning" and "Master of Puppets" as commercialized as well due to slower song and instrumentals like Fade To Black, Sanitarium, and Orion. If you even look at the songs and their arrangements in "...And Justice For All" they follow the formula of the two preceding albums to a T: a fast, thrashy opener followed by a title track, then a slower fourth track, then more thrash goodness until it closes with an instrumental near the end. I do wholly agree that the Black Album was the end of the line for them--I could only -tolerate- that album, and absolutely hated everything after. I rest my case.
@Dai: You're thinking of the biggest sellout in metal history, their self-titled, which came after "...And Justice For All." Not what I was talking about at all.

Not what I was talking about at all.oops nvm found one song that has Cliff credited... but from all that aside... ill accept it as one of the ok thrash metal items. and the slower the song doesnt mean the lest thrash that it is. Take Nile for instance. Just cause it has those egyptian ambient parts and those slower tempo songs doesnt mean that Nile is not death. Quite on the contrary Nile is in my opinion the best death metal band the world has seen so far. So i give you congrats. youve changed my opinion on "and justice for all" . really hard to do.. im fuggin stuborn sometimes

The only real accusation I could think anyone could bring against ",,,And Justice For All" is against the song One which is its slower tempo song--it also was arguably their first commercial song since it had an MTV video and won a Grammy. And I don't know about Nil being the best death metal band in the world, but they're certainly one of the top US ones.
*bows* Hey, at least you had an open mind to consider my point and not dismiss me. More than I could say for most.

Shade in the Shadow I can't stand Slayer. Hands down one of the most over-rated bands, ever. Hmmm... I don't agree. There aren't any over-rated bands in my opinion. It's technically and logically impossible. Bands can only be well liked and well revered. There are bands that you believe aren't the greatest, and you might like them a little less, but that is just your opinion.
