what i got so far is:
gold: the power of the Sun, bringing self-realization and inner power;
Silver: the power of the Moon,bringing the ability to respond favorably to life-energies;
orange: the power of Mercury, calming the mind and giving intelligence, alertness, and adaptablity;
green: the power of Venus, bringing the ability to attract material things, to have peace harmony and better relationships with others;
red: the power of Mars, bringing vitality, power,strength, and courage;
blue: the power of Jupiter, bringing abundance, wealth, joy and opportunity;
black:the power of Saturn, bringing patience, endurancestability, and solid material gain;
white: pure dazzling white light, bringing realization, intuition, insight, and power itself.

One of my teachers just wrote a book and was teaching a candle magic course. She gave everyone a copy of the book for free via email even before the book has come out. In fact it is still being edited right now... I feel blessed.

Basic Candle Magick Spell
Perform STEP ONE, Meditation.
For white candle:
Rub oil from the tip of the candle towards the base while humming and visualizing your reason for doing this spell. Continue humming and visualizing for about five minutes.
For black candle:
Rub oil from the base of the candle towards the tip while humming and visualizing your reason for doing this spell. Continue humming and visualizing for about five minutes.
Continue for either candle:
Place the candle into the holder and light it.
Chant your chant for as long as you can while visualizing your purpose.
To chant, use a monotone humming voice.
When you cannot chant and visualize any longer, put the candle out and repeat the spell the following night (or day).
After you see the first glimpse of the results of your spell that night or
day, let the candle burn all the way out.
"So mote it be."

Smells_Like_Cabbage Who's a cute wittle kitty. biggrin Q: What sort of oil is this? For white candle: Rub oil from the tip of the candle towards the base while humming and visualizing your reason for doing this spell. Continue humming and visualizing for about five minutes. Different oils do different things. I like to use Deadly Nightshade oil when hexing somebody. The poison in the Nightshade enhances the effect. When wishing somebody, or yourself, good luck, try to use Vanilla or Lavender oils. Trust me. Those two oils work the best on good spells. For all other spells (ie: making somebody fall in love, etc..), try Rosemary, Thyme or Baby's Breath. Baby's Breath Natural oils are hard to come by, but the effort put into finding it is really worth it. When Baby's Breath's oils are used, the natural energies of the spell are released, increasing it's potency. Check your local library for more information on certain oils, and you shall find everything you need. Hope I helped a bit.
