Well, I look at it this way: I'm a guitar player. I love Tool. I would love to be able to cover one of their songs. I think bands that get covered should be honored that they get covered. Tool has done covers, and no doubt, there are fans of the original version crying "Bloody rape!!" like so many on here are. I for one enjoyed the plugged-in cover I heard...It wasn't perfect, and honestly Staind doesn't really have the right ability or equipment to cover it perfectly, but then again, covers don't have to be note-by-note rips. However, it's a sign of respect...someone in Staind enjoys and respects Tool's music enough, to try to do their own version of the song. That's their tribute to Tool. And in full earnest, it wasn't that bad... I've heard covers and many songs during my time bouncing that would make your ears bleed.

Hell at least it ain't one of breaking benjamin's covers. There version of undertow was utter shite - through their version of Bulls on parade by Rage wasn't bad.

You've got to be kidding me....i like Staind, I love Tool. The cover of Sober was horrible. It just sounded wrong..i know that imitation is the sincere form of flattery; and that Aaron liked sober so much that he decided to make a cover of it, but it still didn't compare to Tool's version of the song.
