We're one hour into the event and things have slowed to a crawl.
The caroling in the Towns is already broken. I cannot claim my first present.
The new twist is the random gift giving in the event forum area. I like this a lot, but you cannot give gifts to the same person again and again. Not a bad way to prevent cheating. Oh, and most folks seem to like the Zurg Santa's gift lineup so far. The cow Santa's gifts seem lame by contrast.
Should we open an AYGGS Guild thread in the three sections of the event forum?

Let's just make one on the main event forum.

I see we can give gifts here as well. Sweet!
Perhaps a presence in the Xmas event forum will be nice, but not mandatory. cheese_whine

This sucks! I just tried to give Max a gift here and got some weird a** error message about messing with the URL. WTF?
Gaia is on track for staging another fine mess we're all in. dramallama

I've seen that error message as well. I guess one must give gifts in the Xmas section of the forum for the gift to make contact.
Another fine mess, indeed.

Since when do the events ever start off smoothly? At least by now they've learned they need to have them start before the actualy holiday and extend past it.

The Towns are down, error messages galore.
The caroling at the stores seems to be the best bet. And gift giving to random folks in the Xmas forum is working, but I'm doing a bunch of giving without any replies. Oh well.

Stores are the best bet at this moment. I have both sets of events items, which I agree with floyd as being VERY VERY easy.

The Towns finally came back up, but to my dismay, I found that the items being passed around there are identical to the ones given out by the stores! Two pair of boots, anyone?
Oh, and the prices for the current and past Xmas gifts are piss poor at best. Just too much of the junk in the marketplace. Garbage.

Well, I must say that things have smoothed out very nicely here. Everything seems to be working, and the presents are flowing like a muddy river.
My favorite giveaway items are the Water Meat and the Spirited 2k6 Hat.
What are your favorite Gaian garbage giveaway items this season?

The water meats seem to be quite popular.
