So we all know the Doctor had kids at some point, because of Susan, but I still got surprised when he came out and said it. Has the Doctor directly confirmed his having children before?

Kinda weird, how we've known he had a granddaughter since the very beginning but we've never heard anything about his kid or kids. Although in Father's Day, he does mention his family being killed in the War.
