The USS: Typhon, the Federation's first prototype carrier class ship.
With a crew of over 300 it's a ship on the verge of a whole new means of space combat.
However, when disaster strikes and the crew and ship are tossed forwards in time to a universe they hardly know it will take every ounce of skill, luck and perseverance to survive and make it back to their own time to make sure the future they saw will not come to pass....

These are the voyages of the USS: Typhon
To bodly go where no man has gone before....

Alpha Quadrant, towards the far edges of the milky way galaxy, if you were to go any further out you'd simply be flying out in the infinite abyss beyond the stars. Most ship captains refer to this sector of space as the backwaters, nothing really happens out here, no pirates as shipping lanes are nearly non-existent, no neutral zones as no one really cares much of this place. The only thing around are a few deep space research stations and one unique Federation shipyard.

A unique station in itself it's sole purpose is to build some of the more 'unique' ships that get approved for testing by the Federation science committee. It's isolated and remote location make spying on it much less likely and with an abundance of space training and testing of these ships goes much smoother. In the dockyard this time, however, is a new proto-type, a carrier class ship, the USS: Typhon. Able to hold over a dozen smaller fighters and bombers it is meant to patrol the outer reaches, being able to cover more space with it's fighters then a single capital ship ever could.

With threats from the Borg ever on the rise it is also planned to be used as a alpha test of all of the newest phase-variant weapons used to combat the mechanical menace. It is a new hope designed to strike back at the Borg... but what will happen when the Borg strike first?

The USS: Typhon is a surprisingly lithe ship for it's apparent bulk and size. This is due partly from the recent technological advancements becoming more available after the Dominion wars. The Typhon is not only a trial ship for carrier classes but it is also the first ship in the attempt to mainstream more of the technological advances available to Starfleet. One of the few downsides however is that this technology has had a few corners taken off so they are sometimes unreliable, especially if damaged.

Valkyrie Fighter

The Valkyrie fighter is an all-purpose attack fighter that can fulfill a variety of roles in space combat. Equipped with state-of-the-art weaponry and tech a group of three can even take down smaller warships. Un-able to make long warp jumps where ever you see them you can be sure their is a carrier ship or station nearby. Becouse of it's small size it is able to launch from the side bays of the Typhon when in combat.


Razorback Gunship

The Razorback is a heavy assault class fighter used for combat against larger ships and threats. Nowhere near as quick or nimble as the Valkyrie it relies on escorts in order to get it to it's target. Once there it can open up with four torpedo launchers. Able to carry a variety of armaments into combat, from photon torpedoes to quantum and more, it can seriously damage any ship that chooses to ignore them for too long. Like the valkyire the Razorback can deploy from the side launchbays of the Typhon.


Interdictor Bomber

The Interdictor Bomber is a snail compared to other fighter ships. It can not turn easily, nor can it reach high speeds readily either. The only thing that makes this ship even worthwhile is how much destruction it can cause to an enemy instillation. Able to use more powerful versions of weapons even some capital ships don't carry, the Interdictor can lay waste to an entire enemy base after just a few bombing runs. The only problem is that, since each ship can only carry one due to it's size, a lot of effort must go into taking out other threats or protecting this mule from them. Due to it’s sheer size it can only be deployed by doing a ‘fighter drop’ from the Typhon, an operation requiring the entire floor of the hanger bay to be opened allowing the Interdictor to be released into space or the atmosphere.

Alpha Flight Squad
Alpha Flight Squad is the academy’s best and brightest combat pilots. Unfortunately out of the thirty slots available only 9 students actually took the class. Which means that until more pilots can be trained what few men, women and aliens are available are going to have to survive for as long as possible.
