Meeting a New Friend Yumoa grunted as she slowly made her way down the sidewalk. She didn't like how the ruff concrete felt agianst her paws. And she had been living with Tsuche in that cave for so long, she had forgotten what it felt like. Never the less, she had to go to that drug store to get bandages for Tsuche's wound.. And something called 'anti-bijotic' or something..
"I don't see why we can't just let it heel as is.." She said agian, scratching at the annoying money pouch that was tied around her waste with a belt.. God she hated clothes.Torva, naturally, was no longer allowed in places like the grocery store. Or, well, he was, but Indu prefered him to sit outside. Still, he wasn't TOO undignified, as no leash kept him there, instead, the wolfish boy sat, foot scratching behind his ear in a way no true human could accomplish, one ear flicking at the sounds of passing traffic.Yumoa made a mad dash acrossed the street, while the light was green no less. And nearly caused a traffic accident. A few loud honks of a car scolded towards the female wolf as she made it to the other side of the street, along with the hecklings of the man behind the wheel. "What the hell's the matter with you?! Wait till the light is red you damn dog!!"
To this Yumoa turned and snarled, baring her teeth. "Watch your mouth human or I'll kill your metal riding beast!!" She said, swiping at his head that was popping out of the window. The man shreeked like a little girl and quickly sped off. Yumoa then closed her muzzle and turned around, lifting her tail in the air in a little 'hmpf. kiss my a**' type mannor. She then sniffed the air a few times, blinking.. She smelt something familer to her own kind.Torva's head tilted to one side as movement caught his eye and he eagerly sought to get rid of his boredom, that is, until the creature that smelled so familiar was shouted at by the large man. Most large men that Torva had encountered were bad creatures, and he growled, rising to a crouch, clawed hands making scratches on the pavement.
But she handled it herself. And yes, he knew she was definately female. The same but... Different. Torva's ear flicked again, and the lycan let out a non-threatening sort of croon.
"Arrwoooo...?"Yumoa's ears also kicked up at the sound, before she quicky trotted acrossed the parking lot towards the scent. After she was up on the sidewalk that lead into the supermarket, she spotted the one that smelled much like herself.. Male.
"Rwwwoooooo." She returned the greeting, also not threatening. She then stepped closer so she was in front of him, sniffing the air.. He wasn't someone she knew, but of like kind.. And that always ment instant trust for her. "Hello. What's a wolf like yourself doing in the city?" please dear god tell her he wasn't a human lover.Torva wasn't very interested in the pale humans that ran about the city like insects, in fact one of the only reasons he tolerated the Reevers was that a lot of them were animalistic, or darker skinned, closer to his own brown shade. His skin wasn't like most people's, rather, it was incredibly soft, almost like fur... He wasn't very old, by human standards, and in this city, he knew not how to feed himself. He couldn't hunt, Fandi, his leader, forbade it, therefore he was dependant on Indu. He also didn't like to speak English much, but for this female, he would.
"Hunger drives us."
He spoke of himself in plural, as he considered himself to speak for his pack. His pack of two, that was.Yumoa knew all about small packs, ever sense Shiran and the others abandoned her for the likes of humans. Her ear twiched a little, before she sat down, tail staying high.. It was obvious she was the alpha where she came from.
"You come here for food? I always disliked the taste of store meat.. They dellude it with that corn oil.. There are forests near my home where you could hunt freely. I'm sure my mate wouldn't mind." She said, nodding her head. Before offering up her name. "I'm Yumoa."Torva was not dominant, nor submissive, as he'd never had to compete, really, but he had to stand up for himself. If anything, he'd probably be beta. His tail drooped slightly at the mention of Yumoa's mate, more on a subconcious level than anything, but he sniffed the air near her, and chose to answer.
"We have always been Torva, and we have never hunted."Never hunted? The poor thing. Was he born around humans? Yumoa would of never had to lay sight on them if it wasn't for humans savagly murdering her family.. And she honestly wished she would of never had to. "Never hunted? You must come to the forests then. The kill tastes so much better when you've hunted it down with your own teeth and claws." She said with a nod, before she realised something.
"Why do you stay out here if you hunger? Is the rest of your pack inside?" to be honest, she dredded going in herself.. Super markets reeked of humans and their delluded food.Impulsively, perhaps because she was the first of his kind he'd seen, Torva scooted slightly forward to rub his head against her shoulder, a peaceful loud exhale of air coming from his smaller body.
"Our captor is within. We have attacked those in stone, and no longer are we welcome inside."
So, he'd slashed at the store's manager, and gotten kicked out for it. Indu was inside, doing the weekly grocery shopping. Torva didn't really like living with the Reevers, he prefered Fandi, the woman he considered his pack leader, as she was the first Letum, like himself.Yumoa would of blushed at the jesture if her cheeks weren't covered with the silky white furr that it had been, but she permitted such action like she would a member of her own pack. Her tail gave a light pad, before she gave a low snarl to the word 'captor'.
"Your being held prisoner? You are not binded, why don't you flee? We can attack the human together and you can follow me to where you'd be free, and we can get the rest of your pack aswell." She said sternly, standing up as she leered at the door. Tsuche's bandages could wait. One of their kind -sorta- was being opressed!"She tells us we must stay."
Fandi couldn't raise him, so she'd put him in Indu's care... For now. Still, he came back to the compound every week for checkups/excersizing. He was a loyal creature, and as long as the Letum were pack, he wouldn't abandon them. No matter how much he wanted to.
"We are bound in soul, not flesh."Yumoa nodded slowly as she frowned.. That sounded much like her brother. That back stabbing Shiran who had left them for Rune and the others, because he was 'part human' or some trash along those lines. But that's all he was to her now, trash. She then twiched her ears at the sound of traffic behind her, sighing.
"Well, if you ever need to escape. Towards the west is my forest, your welcome to find shelter there." She said with a nod, before looking to the door. "I have to get bindings for my mate, he has injured his eye when we where hunting for deer.. A moose attacked him. Care to join me?" She asked, nodding her head to the door. "I'd feel safer with one close to my own kind with me."Torva probably had a much easier time standing on his feet than Yumoa, although they wre longer, more wolven that a normal persons, and he let out a lazy yawn, flashing his fangs.
"We will walk with you."
Unlike Shiran, Torva had no qualms about attacking humans, nor was he particularly loyal to them. Sure, he'd protect Indu and the other Reevers, but only against other humans. He was more likely to help Yumoa that he was Indu.
He padded through the door, first, almost protectively, nose wrinkling with distaste at the smells that assaulted it. Most people didn't have appealing scents to him.Torva would of been right on that assumption, Yumoa couldn't walk on her hind legs to save her life. But that wasn't because of her body build, that was because she never cared to learn. She followed after him on all fours. Her nose wrinkled aswell at the distaste of the scents in the super market, before she walked in the second sliding door, looking around at all the busy humans and the crowded isles..
"I need bandages.. And something called 'anti-bijotic opiment.'" She said, incase he knew what those where. Gabriel said they'd all be in the same isle, and she knew what bandaids and medical wrap looked like from the time that one wolf broke her rib. "... Can you read?" she asked, eyes going to the signs that said what was down what isle.Torva mumbled the words to himself, and after a moment of thought, realized what she meant. To the surprise of most, the lycan was extremely intelligent, and fierce, therefore, Fandi's current favorite.
"Antibiotic Ointment?"
Yes, he could read. He nodded, a sound from his throat answering her positively, and turned his golden gaze to the aisle signs. Without a word, he turned down the proper one, and eyed the long racks before spotting what she wanted. It was easy to get, when you could, and would, stand."Yeah! That's what he said." Yumoa confirmed as the male repeated the words Gabriel had said, and then followed after as he took the correct isle. When he got the anti-biotic ointment, she instinctivly also grabbed a roll of medical bandages, and held them in her front paw. She exsamined it, before looking up to Torva.
"That's all I need... How do I give them this green papper in exchange for it?" Yeah.. Gabriel really didn't prep her enough for this outing. PantherKajja: "I..."
"TORVA!"
THe boy's ears flattened to his skull, and he clearly resisted the urge to snarl, as Indu strode down the hall, agressively. That boy was NOT supposed to be in the store!
"WHAT the ******** do you THINK you're DOING?"
She did not remember Yumoa at all, in fact, she didn't remember a lot of people, not since Dakota had fixed her brain, that is. Yumoa's ears at the same instance Torva's went down, went strait up and forward. She didn't like a human yelling at her kind. She quickly turned her head and began snarling at the woman, reering back on her paws. "Who's that?! Your captor?!" She barked, directiong the question at Torva, but if Indu wanted to answer, that'd be just fine aswell.
The alpha had dropped the bandage case on the floor, and was now baring her teeth on a full scale, tail swishing about irritably.Indu's eyes didn't widen in fear, rather, they narrowed, and she pulled the tazer at her hip from it's case. It could even drop Dakota, an extremely strong Dhamphir, along with Jo, her demon familiar. She knew, because they'd tested it.
"Captor? I'm his guardian! Get away from him! Torva! Come here!"
Torva dropped to all fours, ears still back, but teeth barred, yellow eyes only golden slits as her growled. He knew he'd get in trouble for attacking Indu, and he wasn't going to, he just hoped she fled.Yumoa's eyes instantly went to the tazor on Indu's hip, before her gaze shot back to Torva. Psh, Gabriel could come back for the bandages later. Tsuche didn't need em, he could heal without human concoctions.
"Torva, after me!" She said in her normal, alpha like ways. She then quickly made a brake and dashed behind Indu's legs, heading towards and out the foor door.. Which threw a couple toddlers with their parents for a spin. "Puppy!!"Instinctively reacting to the command, Torva broke out in a sprint, skidding around Indu rather than through her legs, claws slipping on the slick floor as he followed Yumoa. He fell into a tumble, a brown ball that rolled through the middle of the toddlers before he turned completely, out the door and landed in a crouch, eyes wide. Where were they going? Why were they going? Part of him didn't care.Yumoa had paused as soon as she got outside, waiting for Torvu, and then continued to dash acrossed the parking lot, and down the sidewalk. She'd wait before crossing the street agian. The last thing she needed was those metal beasts slowing them down.
"I'll take you where you'll be safe! Then take you to your pack!" Yeah, get him away from that captor.. Just like those evil gaurdian's that destroyed her family... But... Why'd that redhead look so damned familiar?Torva knew mentally that the tazer wasn't for him, it was because instinctively, Indu had looked like she recognized Yumoa from somewhere, and that the female was dangerous. Still, she seemed care about him, and the boy loped after her, liking the feel of the wind against his skin.
"We must find our pack."
That, he agreed on. Fandi always knew what to do.When Yumoa was satisfied they where far enough from the store, she quickly dashed behind a bush in someone's garden, before stopping. She gave a light pant, thinking.. Tsuche wouldn't be so receptive if she brought a male home when he was injured the way he was.. And Gabriel was far too nosey.. Ichi might like the male, but that'd have to wait. "Do you know the way to where your pack in staying?" She hoped it wasn't with that woman.. She frowned.
"I can't take you back to where my mate is, I have a feeling Gabriel will know that human.. But I can take you to your pack now." She said, puffing up her chest. She had to take care of her own kind. Even if they werent in her pack.Torva stopped too, and flopped onto his back, revealing his stomach and throat to her, trusting, and he gave her a playful grin. Yumoa was nice, fun, and just like him. She'd better come see him again after this.
"It is far... We go in flying metal."
A helicopter. The compound was a very... Hard place to reach... For many reasons.Yumoa nodded as she looked over Torva's torso, making sure he wasn't injured in any way while he was in the care of that human. She then streched out her muscles and rested for a moment, laying her chest agianst the ground as her legs folded.
"I see.. How do we get to this flying metal?" She asked, looking to him curiously. She'd never seen flying metal.. just the wheely kind, and the kind that floated on water. If she ever had to fly somewhere, Gabriel or Tenshi mostly carried her by their wings.Torva's skin was covered with scars, which were rather attractive, but the reason they were there was actually unknown. Indu'd never abused him. The helicopter? Torva wasn't sure, exactly. Nor did he know how to pilot one.
"We are taken from Captor's house. So. We do not know.""Damn." Yumoa muttered, she seemed to have adopted that word lately, from who knows where. But it was one of the only swares she ever used. She then gnawed on the back of her paw to get an inch, before her ears went down.
"Are there others at your captors house that will help us get the flying beast, without telling your captor?" Like the other children at Tenshi's house.. Accept Tenshi wasn't a captor, she let Yumoa come and leave whenever she pleased. Which meant she was mostly on leave."Neme."
She was pack, in a way. She would be, if her beast form wasn't a panther, but a wolf. Still, the young woman was the most understanding of the Reever's, which was a unique position for the Sakti to be in.
Torva rolled onto his stomach, adding his own gnaw to Yumoa's before getting to all four of his more humanoid paws, yawn making his tounge curl.Yumoa nodded as she stood up on her front paws and quickly scratched behind her ear, before standing on her hind aswell. "Good, we'll go there and ask her for help." Now she KNEW she recognized that name somehow.. From Tenshi she thought. Tenshi always ranted and raved about her friends names, maybe they knew eachother?
"Which way do we go? You lead, I'll back you up." She said with a nod, taking in a deep breath agian, which made the furr on her chest stand and puff out. Torva peeked out from behind the brush, and seeing no one he knew, started to go down the sidewalk at a fastpaced, but comfortable jog, aware of exactly where Yumoa was, slightly behind him.
It wasn't far, maybe two or three miles, and there was the large Reever house. Not too far from Tenshi's, actually. The boy slowed, and sat on the porch, hand scratching at the door. It opened several seconds later, to reveal Neme, brows raised, green hair tied back for once.
"Tor?"
Her gaze moved past him to Yumoa, and she actually let a twisted grin show up on her face, revealing a fang.
"Yumoa."Yumoa followed after Torva on all fours the entire time, looking like a diagram of how a dog or cat ran in slow motion from the light pace. When they got there, she recognized the house perfectly, and then Neme when it opened.
"Hey! I know this place!" She said, Tenshi had brought her here before. She then looked up at the woman, frowning. One of Tenshi's friends kept wolves captive..? They'd have a long talk about this. Or more like Yumoa making an accusation and Tenshi defending her.. Once she got out of prison anywho. "We need the flying metal beast." She said, trying to stay on topic. Indu could return any moment.Neme's brows stayed skyhigh, and there was a long, long silence as she stared at the two wolfish creatures. Flying metal? Had they eaten some drugged meat? Honestly, children thes--Oh.
"The helicopter? Come in, I'll call Fandi."
No questions asked.
Torva padded inside, rubbing his head against Neme's leg briefly before trotting into the kitchen, where the phone was.Yumoa, hesitantly, but sure followed after Neme and Torva, padding into the kitchen. She then sat next to where Torva sat and eyed the place suspisously. Oh, she had soooo been here before.. Wasn't this Tenshi's mate's house? Or at least who she thought was Tenshi's mate.
Oh yeah, she and Tenshi was gonna have it out. Yumoa then turned her head and gently groomed Torva's shoulder in a comforting mannor. "Once this is settled, you gotta come meet my mate, and Ichi. She's the Beta in our pack." Mostly beta because there where no other wolves, but oh well.A pleasant sort of growl rumbled in the boys throat as he turned his head to nuzzle Yumoa's head, golden eyes, however, still on Neme, who was mumbling at the phone, nodding her head to the wall.
"We would like to meet your pack."
Neme hung up, then crouched so she was at their level, an expression of disinterest on her face.
"Th' copter'll be 'ere en a' few."Yumoa tensed a bit when Neme leaned down, then nodded as she said the metal beast would be here soon.
"Excellent. Thank you." This one wasn't bad for a human.. Or human type.. thing.. She then looked to Torva, and then the doorway, pondering. "Should we wait outside?" Where we could hide? Was what she wanted to add, but she didn't.. Neme could still give away their position of the red headed woman returned.. With the human weopon she was going to attack her with.Understanding lit the the animalistic green eyes, and Neme's smile turned wry.
"Th' small 'ores' out back es righ' by th' lan'in, ped."
The helicopter would be landing by the trees, and it would be easy to hide there until it's arrival. Torva licked Neme's face, making her scowl, and went out the kitchen's other entrance, to the backyard.Yumoa simply stared at the woman dumbfounded.. She talked like Vincent, only less translatable. She then dicided to follow Torva. She stood up and slowly padded after him, going out into the backyard, and sat down. "How long does it usually take for the beast to get here?" She asked curiously, scratching irritably at the money pounch still belted around hr hip. Aside from the neckless she never took off, that belt was the only clothing she was wearing."It depends..."
In fact, with their sensitized hearing, both could hear it approaching. It wasn't a normal helicopter, it was more like a jet hybrid, and it wasn't as loud as most. The black, metallic object glided into the backyard, and after a few minutes, the door hissed open, a tall, androgynous person, who the two could tell was female purely by scent, stepped out, clipboard in hand.
"002."
Torva's face lit with joy and adoration at the sight of her.
"Our pack!"Yumoa's ears picked up as the female came out of the helicopter, they had currently been plastered to her head to avoid the sound of the machine. She then looked to Torva and nodded, giving a sigh of releif. "She's in your pack? Or she can take us to your pack? Get you away from here. Yes?" She asked, tail wagging from side to side. Good, they where making some progress.Fandi stopped a few feet away, not keen on others invading her space, and more than positive about Yumoa feeling close to the same way. Wolves rarely like strangers close to them. Jotting something down on the metal clipboard, her equally golden eyes ran over the two of them, and her emotionless face flickered briefly.
"I am thankful that you brought my charge safely. Such a thing shall be remembered."
Golden wings shifted, and she folded her arms across her chest. Torva had a dopey, proud smile on his face, and nodded an affirmitive.
"Our Alpha."Yumoa nodded her head and then relaxed, looking quite releived. She then looked up at the female.. She didn't really look much like her, considering she had wings and all. But if she was the alpha, that was good enough for her. It meant Torva was where he was sapposed to be, and not with his 'captor'.
"Some human was screaming at Torva, and kept him captive! I helped him escape before she could use some human weopon on us." She said with a firm nod, thinking that Indu was some kind of threat that kidnapped Torva, rather than he was left in the custody of.Fandi's brows rose, and she made another note on her clipboard.
"I shall speak with Miss Reever about her disciplinary procedures."
The woman's metal hand clentched and unclentched as she looked thoughtful, before turning her gaze to the two younger creatures.
"002, onto the aircraft. And you, what may I give you in exchange?"
Maybe Yumoa could get some stuff from Tsuche out of her.Yumoa, not being a nessasaraly greedy creature, didn't quite understand the statement of 'what may I give you in exchange?' She looked over to Torva, and then back at the woman, smiling.
"I'd like it if Torva could visit me and my pack sometime. Tenshi could give you speciffics on where our den is.. She knows the lady that was keeping Torva captive." She said, giving the woman a way to find out where she lived. Ichi would be thrilled to meet Torva, Tsuche probably too. It was always good to meet ones of their own kind.. It expanded territory, made allies. And who knows what else.Fandi looked slightly displeased. She liked the younger female's seriousness, toughness, and such, but the fact that she didn't know how to trade something for another thing didn't make her happy. She prefered intelligent, somewhat manipulative creatures, Ahor liked those that were more... Happy.
"That will be appropriete."
Torva leaned over to give Yumoa a long lick, before preparing to board the aircraft.Yumoa smiled and gently nuzzled Torva's side, before she bowed her head to the other female. "I'll see you later, Torva." She said with a grin, before turning around. She then started to pad off around the house.. She had to go back to Tenshi's house, and tell Gabriel to get his own damn bandages. She took one last look back and took in a deep breath. "Bye!" She called out, before turning her head back, dashing off towards home."Interesting..."
Fandi's gaze followed Yumoa until she disappeared, then she lightly stroked Torva's dark hair with her normal hand, wordlessly sending him onto the aircraft. She followed seconds later, and the black hybrid helicopter took off.
