Was it his fault for not having a place? Was that it? Was it always his fault? Or was it ismply that he was alone thanks to his father?

Maybe that was it, maybe that would always be it.

The red and white wolf trotted through the forest simply, he didn't want to grow up to be like his father, he didn't want to grow up to be like his mother. Akamichi was completely grown up already... but he wasn't GROWN up. That was where he was, with his white muzzle pulled back and his sharp white teeth.

"Bah... I shouldn't be letting this kill me. They're dead... just let them die." Aka growled out into the empty world around him.

Nothing answered.... like usual.

God it was ******** COLD. Riley shivered in the cold, both her ears pinned back as she scowled at the air around her. It wasn't quite cool enough to see her breath, but as far as she was concerned she might as well have been standing in SNOW.

Not that she had ever seen the stuff.

Being from the desert, she had though the woods were cold when she had come during the summer. Now that winter nearly had a firm grip on the land she was freezing. And very bitchy about it. "Stupid ******** weather change!" She spat as she stomped around like a tempermental child. Not that that made her any warmer, "I wish I was back home and out of this shithole!" Obviously she had little restraint with her language. And she didn't care who heard or even notice that there was a scent on the wind suggesting another wolf near by.

An ear rose as Akamichi heard words and exclamations from another in the distance. Up in the mountains it wasn't as if Aka hadn't adapted to his climate, he was as used to the cold as an african wolf would have been to the desert, but then again he was incredibly large with so much fur that it made one want to reach out and hug him just to see how far it went in.

Rolling his red shoulders for a moment, Aka finally figured he'd talk. Not that he had much of a choice... what with her bad language and her ranting at his territory.

"Not used to it up here are you?" His ghostly voice floated out from the shadows he'd been standing in and Aka slowly appeared from them himself, the white on his body showing up first.

"No I am NOT!" Riley snapped fiercely, though her agression was more toward the cold then the other wolf. He face was like an open book, her expression riddled with discomfort and frustration. Despite her firey temper and bad language it was hard to be afraid of her since her fury was comparable to that of a child's-quick, random, and rather harmless. "Who the ******** would want to live HERE? It's INHUMANE!" She growled, a shudder rushing through her body. She couldn't really feel her limbs any more and it was really starting to get on her nerves and freak her out-in the desert one did not go numb.

Two toned eyes hid every emotion that was possible beneath a mask of stone the thickness of a mountain. Akamichi was hardly as open about his feelings as this female, about his emotions that had been so abused and about his mind that had been so broken. For all her fury it was falling on deaf ears as the male slowly closed off the valve of annoyance to calmly take in her words and raise a fluffy eyebrow at her.

"You make it sound like someone with fur as thin as yours deserves to have set foot up here in the first place." Akamichi said slowly to her as he blinked at her, the irritation masked by a wry smile. "I would want to live up here pup, what has one such as yourself coming so far from her humane territory into a world that she can do nothing but complain and yell obscinities about?"

It wasn't for lack of curiosity that he threw up the wall, it was because he didn't like it when children such as this insulted where he lived.

Riley gave him a sour look, her nose wrinkling in irratation, "I do believe living up here in this cold weather has ruined your eyes, cause I'm no pup." She snorted and rolled her eyes, swishing her curled tail in a futile attempt to warm herself. "And if you're going to say I don't belong here then say it! Geeze, what a waste of words dancing around the subject like that." She wasn't one to understand the subtle pleasures of casual, comfortable conversation. She spoke bluntly and expected others to do the same.

"Bluntly put? You're younger than myself so you're a pup and no you don't belong up here, but I don't mind that you're up here in the first place." Akamichi said at last, his eyes burning as he sat down and reclined on one hind hip. "What has you up here in the first place then...."

He didn't have an idea of what to use to call her since she didn't take to kindly to pup.
