Ah, another stary night.. Night time seemed to be the only time that brought Uhuru some peace, with an exception of that night long ago when he abandoned his family and met Mashuhuri. This night however gave Uhuru an unsettling feeling. Something was going to happen... Something that may change his outlook on life forever..
He passed through the towering trees as silently as possible. When this feeling is set upon you, its best to be as inconspicuous as possible. You know, just in case.

UkomoBusu shifted slowly and silently through the unfamaliar land. She was graceful in her movements, yet her eyes were wide and obviously fearful. She'd heard her father talking about the jungle and how his parents had brought him there when he was a cub. Well, she wanted to see for herself what it was like. Now that she'd finally gotten here... well, it had fallen dark. But she wasn't afraid! Certainly not!
Her foot pressed down too hard on a small twig and the snap rung out through the area. She froze and looked around hurriedly. "Who's there?" She whispered to herself. She started to walk again, and then her pace took up.
In no time she was running blindly through the woods, straight in a collision path with Uhuru!

Uhuru perked his ears and whipped his head towards the snapping twig. No experienced creature would be so careless to step on a twig at this time of night, would it? No matter.. Who ever it was, Uhuru knew they wouldn't mess with him. Well, maybe..
His eyes had adjusted for the most part to the light, though apparently not enough. In no time at all he ran smack into Ukomo.

As Ukomo slammed into something she let out a frightened screetch, trying to unscramble herself from whatever it was. And then she let out an unintimidating snarl, her fur puffing up to try and make her look bigger. "I'll kill you!" Were the first words to spill from the pretty little thing's mouth, and she decided they were mighty fine words! Though she didn't look like a killer.

Uhuru snarled and growled right back at her, "I'd like to see you try." He couldn't see much of her since her coat was dark and blended in with their surroundings. However, the light gleamed dully off her red eyes. Well, she was already more fierce looking than he was, but he would the last person to admit that.

But when she finally freed herself of him alls she did was scamper backwards, still hissing at the light colored thing. Whats was he? Her eyes nerrowed, but her stance was still on the frightened defense.

Ah, it was another one of those things. What were they called again? Lions! That's it! Though she looked slightly different than the others. Uhuru seemed to meet more lions in the jungle than any other type of creature. How odd... Anyways, he peered in her general direction, trying to look uninterested and slightly confused at the same time.

She seemed to calm down a little once he said nothing more, her own gaze trying to grow bored as well, and she began to look away. "This jungle isn't nearly as interesting as papa made it sound.." She breathed out, speaking more to herself than she was to him.

He chuckled at her. "Ah yes, the jungle can be quite uninteresting. Most who live here are solitary and don't come out often." He grinned at her as he said, "Though, I plan to change that one day." He let out a short maniacle laugh, then regained his composure; not wanting to come of as crazy. He was just.. determined.

Her eyes narrowed and whipped toward him. "I wasn't speaking to you... creature." Hpmh, that would show him. But at least now she knew a little bit about the jungle. So the animals here didn't like showing themselves? She wondered why... It did make her feel a little safer though.

"Ah, but see I am speaking to you. If you speak to the darkness, you should expect an answer." His words shocked him a little as he said them, though he wasn't exactly sure why. He still could not tell exactly what she looked like and may be just speaking to the darkness. And he demanded an answer, every time.

Why would one expect an answer from the dark, generally when something wasn't there, in the night? Or maybe because it was harder to see things in the dark and often creatures were well hidden...
She took a deep breath and sat down with a little grumble. "Well it doesn't matter either way... I said what I said not to the darkness but to my self... for my own ears to hear and not yours." She didn't know if that made much sense, she wasn't sure what else to say to him though.
"What are you anyways?" She said, the question rather rude. But she'd never seen something like him before! "A weird looking lion?"

"Suit yourself, child. Just watch your tounge when you're not certain someone wont hear you. You just never know who might be out there," he said calmly.
Ahaha, yet another foolish creature that doesn't know what in the world he was. That'll change, but for the time being, "I'm a leopard, and though I can't see you, I assume you are a lion. Am I right?"
