The midday sun was just begining to set and soft clouds were slowly covering the sky in preparation for that evenings rains. With lust plants and trees the jungle seemed to get darker than the surrounding land faster but that didn't stop alot of creatures from venturing out into it.

A calico lioness was one of them. She had grown tired of caring for her cubs for the time being and was taking a break. Her movement was slow as she crept through the jungle, soft shadows dancing on her pelt, as she took in every new thing she saw. Even after living there for a few months she still couldn't believe how amazingly different it was from anywhere else she had ever been.

Soon she came across a small clearing where the light grew a bit brighter, out of the shadows from the trees and into the shadows of the clouds. She padded slowly into the center of the clearing where a small watering hole resided. It was still and with the lack of light looked alot like a mirror. The lioness sat down looking into it with wonder, watching the calico lioness that looked back up at her. "What strange things this place holds... I wonder if I'll ever stop being amazed..." She mused touching the cool surface with her paw and breaking it's clear image.

To be completely honest ... Layilme had gotten lost. She'd wandered into the outskirts of the jungle the previous night, entranced by the way it was even darker under the trees ... chasing shadows and starlight until nearly morning. And now that it was getting dark again, she really had no idea where she was.

And so it was by complete chance that she stumbled upon the clearing, drawn by the small noise of splashing water. Upon seeing another lioness there, she paused for a moment but padded on quietly, ducking under a last low-hanging branch.

"Hello," she called softly.

Golden eyes flashed from the darkness as the red lioness hid her own body from sight. She wasn't sure where she was, not entirely sure who these lions were and didn't really feel like popping into existance before them if she didn't have to.

However, sanity tugged at her mind and Khepri knew that in order for herself to be able to find what it was she was looking for, she would have to go out and talk to them. It was a good thing that Khepri was so easy at making friends, though she absolutely hated that every time one of the new lions or creatures she met knew anything about Firekin she was immediatly held as suspicious in their eyes.

Slowly a white paw appeared from the black shadows and the rest of a red and white, scarred body followed slolwy as the humongus lioness came into sight. Her eyes flashed once more and she settled down a good way awaqy from the other lionesses, her body relaxed despite how large she seemed to be. One would think her uncomfortable, but no.

The lioness sat still watching her own reflection shift in the moving water. She took a slow sigh enjoying the peace that she once hated as a cub. Then suddenly something caught her attention. One ear rotated towards the jungle. She thought she had heard something and she had begun to get the feeling she wasn't alone. The lioness jumped upon hearing the soft greeting and after taking a moment to collect her sences again she looked over her shoulder. Seeing the other lioness behind her she made a smooth movement and turned to face her. "Hello? ... ", She was abit at a loss with words. She hadn't expected anyone to find her there much less another lioness. Her confusion grew upon noticing another lioness enter the clearing. She began to grow nervious and stood slowly taking a step backwards. "Were you two looking for me?..." Her golden eyes searched them for the markings of Nyek. He had let her go from his evil pride. She was one of the few lucky ones and there was no way she'd ever return.

Layil blinked slightly, also glancing back upon noticing the other lioness. And for all her wandering ... she had heard of the Firekin, yes. But she wasn't the type to judge others merely by reputation so the look she gave the other lioness was nothing more than curious.

"Looking for you...?" she repeated, in answer to the calico-colored lioness. "No, why would I be looking for you?" She didn't even know either of the two.

A thin eyebrow raised as Khepri shook the condensation off of her fur and shifted her large shoulders. She didn't come here looking for this lioness, she'd come here looking for something completely different. In fact she wasn't even sure what she was looking for anymore, though she'd been told she'd know it when she saw it.

"Ah'm not lookin' fer yo', tho'... it's nice ta meet ya', to be sure." Khepri said, her bright gold eyes shifting to look at the darker blue female, "And yo' as well cousin."

Khepri's scarred shoulder throbbed for a moment and she rolled it, wondering faintly why her belly didn't hurt as well since the large claw marks spread down so far as to stop right before her hip. But that was something she'd wonder about later, for now there were a pair of lionesses before her that she should at least be more concerned about.

"Oh... Heh." She closed her eyes as she looked towards her paws in embarrassment, "It's a bit of a long story but I guess I'm just a little paranoid at the moment that's all." She laughed softly at herself for a second before letting her gaze return to the two females. " I really didn't expect anyone to be out here. With the trees so dense and the evening rains ready to fall." She looked up to the small hole in the canopy above only to see the clouds had grown darker, most likely from the setting sun. "If you're on your way home then you'd probably want to get going. That is if you don't like the rain..." Her golden eyes drifted down from the sky above. "Or are you perhaps lost?" A small smile appeared over her spotted muzzle. That'd make perfect sense as to why they both appeared in the clearing, looking for the lighted spot where they would find and exit. Or so they thought...

Layilme wondered at the red lioness' strange way of speech but she was polite enough not to ask about it at the moment. She simply bobbed her head slightly in greeting and spoke back to the first lioness. "Actually, I am a little lost," she said, sounding just a bit embarrassed. But she really had no problem with admitting it. She wandered enough that she'd gotten lost before and ended up finding things she didn't think she would have ever seen otherwise.

((Sorry! ;o; *Had a bad couple of days* ><; ))

"Ah'm not lost... jus' lookin' fer' somethin' Ah need ta find soon." Khepri said slowly, not really sure how to describe what it was she was looking for to these two adult lionesses. She was just an ex-firekin adolescent looking for something that might not even have existed in the first place.

Pricking her ears at the other blue lioness, Khepri raised both of her eyebrows and smiled gently.

"Um... Where yo' lookin' fer anythin' in particular cousin?" Khepri asked gently, "Ah've seen mostah the lands aroun' 'ere cuz of wha' Ah'm lookin' fo'."

(( Tis okay. I had finals this week so, I kind of need to be sorry for the lag also. >.> Though now I might not be able to reply until after christmas. ))

" I... I might be able to help you both find what you're looking for. I've lived, not exactly here but, in the jungle for the past few months." She slowly sat down and looked from one lioness to the other. "What was it that you were looking for?" Her voice was soft and almost shy as she spoke to the red lioness. Kichea hadn't always been like that but growing up in the oasis made her that way, she hardly knew anything outside of her world that she lived, including of the firekin.

Suddenly a warm raindrop hit her nose and she sneezed. They didn't have time to stand around and chat. Not giving the other female time for an answer she stood and strode right inbetween the two of them. Stretching her legs as she did so, to get them ready for another long walk. When she stopped at the jungles edge she looked over her shoulder at the females, as she did she noticed the bold triple V scars upon her haunch, ones that were obviously made on purpose. Blood rushed to her cheeks in embarassment and she promptly looked back to the jungle. "We've got to hurry if we don't want to get stuck in the dark rains." She whispered still looking out into the greenery before her.

Layil started to reply to the question about looking for something, but got distracted as fat raindrops began to fall all around them. Usually, she didn't much mind rain but ... being lost in it didn't sound like such a fun thing.

She got up and quickly padded out after the muti-colored lioness. "Coming?" she asked the red one as she glanced back over her shoulder.
