  This fruit tree is an evanescent beauty, much as Malume is. The golden hues of the leaves are diminshed by wind, rain, and the night. The bark does in truth have a red tint to it, though in most light it seems an ordinary deep brown. It is shorter than most other trees, though reaches for the sun with the same single-mindedness. It could be easily passed over, though as soon as your back is turned it shines with a brilliance before unseen in a simple tree.
It is still young, and only just getting to know the soil it rests in. It has already discovered the pleasures of sunlight, water, nutrients, and in it photosynthesis... though it has also seen cold winds that tear its leaves from its branches, blackened night which provides no light to use to make its food, and the encroaching roots of other trees that have attained heights it shall never know brushing up against its own roots.
In many ways, Malume and her Fruit Tree are as one.

 She came into this world amongst evil. Her mother and father's hearts burn with a firey passion to destroy. Her elder brother shows signs of the same tendancies that plague their parent's eternal souls. Her younger sister is even more vile. Even so, she loves them. They are her family, her friends, her life.
She is the middle child, and easily ignored. She holds not the esteem of the first born nor the cheek-pinching cuteness of the youngest. She does not enjoy the same things as her family, and is often left out of their "games." She could not bear to tear herself away, even if her somewhat shakey principals scream at her to do so, and is therefore always lurking in the shadows, waiting for the day when she has something in common with those she has come to love.
