Sunlight glittered from her fur. Okay, that was romantic crap, but she liked it. Violet chuckled as she stretched lazily under the heat streaming in the window. It was cold outside, as winter was coming, and Violet didn't care for it out there. Of course, the sun was beginning to set as well, which meant that it was going to get cold everywhere. That caused a sigh to form in her chest, spilling from her maw slowly. Stretching once more, the Kitsusagi finally stood up. Despite having a long nap, and she was still "tired" in the content, wonderful way that being lazy made you tired. Normally Violet would have been spending her days chasing after some heathen kit or another... but none had cropped up in the past few months. After Diego and Duckula had grown into their teen "years" she'd let them go. In fact, she hadn't heard from either boy in quite some time.
It was a bit of a relief, and yet somewhat disturbing. At first, it'd been wonderful--to have time to herself again was a rare and exquisite thing. Then she'd gone through a time of actually missing Deigo's incessant pestering. That had faded eventually, as Violet had once more gotten used to having her quiet time.. and now she didn't have anything ruining her perfect fur.
The female fluffed herself a little further as she strotted up the stairs towards the room she still kept in DFA's Pet-house. Having two humans had its blessings in being able to choose where she wanted to be when one group annoyed her. It didn't really help when they all did, but that rarely happened. Stepping into her little room, she shook herself all over to resettle her fur. Humming her favorite song to herself, the orange-gold coloured female checked the shutters on her window and drew the drapes before flopping into the soft cushion she called a bed.
Oh the bliss of laziness. A small thought prod at her mind that she was realy rather bored with this... but she ignored it. She was warm, it was quiet, and she was beautiful. Content with that knowledge, Violet closed her eyes and slept.

 The sun was horrible.
... The sun had to die. Or something. Something preferably bloody. And sadistic, because the sun was the enemy. No, seriously. It was. Oooooh, the sun would've died long ago, had it been in Diego's paws to do something about it; it made him feel sick. When Diego felt 'sick', he felt like killing baby animals, which was not really er... allowed around here anyhow, and thus the vampire was never in a good mood at this time. In fact, this meant he was never in a good mood 50% of the time; he usually avoided being awake during the day and would instead curl up in a deep dark closet for sleep, however, today he'd found that the bloody god damned closets were ocupied by other ... bigger kitsusagi. In fact, his closet of choice had been ocupied by Silos, whom Diego had learnt not to bug or bother in any way. Nightmare kitsusagi had a god damned temper, and though laid back, the male's horns were sharp, as he'd found out when he was a kit, long ago.
Thus so, the vampire had been left to prowl the house grumpily, murmuruing partialy obscure, and rather colorful curses under his breath as he padded along, his head low and eyes hooded, bags from lack of sleep marring his expression. God damn the 'You are NOT ALLOWED to kill baby animals, Diego!! WHAT EVER have they done to you?!' rule his owner had set him with. What was wrong with a little hunting anyhow? But then again, the prospect of angering the lithe human was not a good one; that meant no scratching behind his ears and no lap sitting on cold winter nights, not to mention no wamr blood, and a good deal of nasty glares his way - He'd adapted to it. He never killed for sports anymore; there were just too many down sides.
Idly, while padding, his cousin's grin flashed through his mind's eye and the spanish vampire flattened his ear back; gods, he was jelous in a way. The veggie loving green vampire was free to run around and play all day, unaffected by the sun, meanwhile he had to hide in the shadows and glare daggers at the sunlight. Life just wasn't fair, now was it? Thank god that night was fast aproaching and his good mood would easily return with it. Night was good; everyone was meant to love the night. In fact, Diego could not comprehend WHY anyone would NOT love the night. It was beyond him.
Talking about unfair...
Violet's room was just up ahead in the hallway.
Arching a brow at the fact no sunlight spilled from the inside, the male slowly padded nearer, peeking his head from door; it was quite dark inside, but his red eyes were more than used to seeing in darkness (in fact, more used to it, at that), and he easily saw the female's form sleeping in a corner. My, my, wasn't she lazy; sleeping already. Frowning slightly as a fleeting thought crossed his mind, the vampire shrugged and turned to continue on his way, for he'd really not stopped to talk to her in a very long time, and he really... did not feel like it. He liked her, oh yes, he did; the crush he'd had on her since his kithood hadn't quite disipated, but he'd pushed it back long ago. She was a beatuy, and he was ... uhm... well, he was dead. That for starters. That aside, he was a monster. Yeah, not a good combo; he couldn't change her, or himself. So he'd left her side long back; he'd even actualy completely avoided her right after growing into his teen years, and he was actualy sure she didn't even know he'd become an adult, quite some time ago. He was content with knowing he'd annoyed her and stolen her time as a kit.
A dark smirk grew atthe knowledge and he padded past the door, walking down the hall, but he'd not taken three steps when he paused, one paw raised in mid stride; she'd had her eyes closed. Which meant she was asleep.
... Oi.
Slowly, he turned back towards the room, and this time stepped in, his head high, the light that filter through the door now blocked by his frame, further conceled by the large cloack that dragged over his tails and his spread wings; why not? She was asleep; it's not like she'd see him, he argued with himself, and thus slowly padded over to her, red eyes blinking at her form as he neared and sat dowd besideher, not quite touching, but just barely feeling her warmth.
Lazy, lazy, lazy...
Did she still smell good?
Lowering his head, he sniffed at her pelt around the base of her neck, then around her ears, his excuse being that, well, he WAS partialy insane; he'd claim insanity if she woke up. Yup. He swiftly found out that yes; she did still smell good, however, he pulled away a few bare seconds later, regarding her with a tilted head in the dark, red eyes shinning down at upon her form; he was larger than her now. Tee... the thought was randomly amusing and the kitsu smirked in the darkness of the room.
He'd quite forgoten about the sun by now.

In point of fact, Diego was quite a bit larger than her now, the sleeping Kitsusagi simply didn't know it. Likely the knowledge would have kept her far from DFA's place for a very long time--possibly forever--for though she'd never considered that Diego's feelings might have run deeper for her than sheer obstinance, there was always something unsettling about the way the 'kit' had presented himself. Content in her lazy sleep, the female twitched her ears at her nightly assailant and continued to sleep blissfully unaware of how bothersome life was likely going to be hence forth.
The last of the sunlight left quickly, leaving darkness so deep that it questioned wether light had ever truly existed. It was during this time that a self-consious feeling began to creep into the back of Violet's mind. There was something wrong going on somewhere. At first her dreams, just started, began to reflect it some of the worst ways they could have before her eyes opened the merest slit. It was even posible that Diego wouldn't notice, they'd moved so little differently from normal dream-twitching. More awarness of 'reality' wasn't so helpful for Violet, however. As her dreams faded she was more and more aware of the presence of another form in her pitch black, warm hole of a room. Suddenly it didn't feel quite so warm.
Fur standing on end, the haughty little princess of both her owners' houses, Violet sat up suddenly and turned to face what she privatly hoped was nothing more than a wall of darkness. The shriek she gave at seeing a pair of somehow glowing red eyes likely was heard down the hall, though it was questionable as if help would actually come. After all, such outbursts were usually only caused by "harmless" pranks and nothing worth getting involved in from a bystandards point of view. She wished it were different.
"W-who..." Violet gulped, moving backward into the corner her bed was pushed into. The eyes hadn't yet seperated themselves from the blackness, and despite some strange feeling of familiarity, fear greatly outweighed the better half of her brain. "What do you think you're doing?!"
The authoritive voice Diego might have remembered was gone, though she'd tried her best to intice it. No, surprisingly Violet sounded rather young for being the eldest Kitsu in the house.

The male remain unmoving, merely watching for the time being, his tail adopting an instinctive and quite lazy swish over the floor as his wings settled on his back; now that night had settled, they felt no need to bar the filtered light, and instead wlecomed what little of it seeped into the room.
It was then she moved. In fact, she jolted awake, and she shrieked, and deep down, Diego was surprised she hadn't reacted sooner, however, he did not move and merely regarded her further.
"Watching you," the response she got was calm, if not slightly amused as the male tilted his head towards the other side, his hat held up by a deft movement of his ear as he remain seated. Quite unlike her, he seemed calm, unmoved, however, the hit of amusement was ringing in his red eyes as he watched her recoil, "Last I checked, watching was not a crime; did the rules change while I was lurking in the dark?" his tone held a mocking edge, one that had never been present whilst he was a kit. In fact, during his kithood he'd not talked to her in anything but an adoring tone, looking up her; it had vanished though, no trace of it left... the cold mocking edge to his voice all that was left, "What? You don't recognise me, Princess?" stepping slightly more into the moonlight, the vampire sat down again, silent, regarding her calmly for a few moments before he turned his head away and focused his attention on the doorway, one ear twitched her way, the other towards the door.
She'd shireked quite loudly, and though he was sure no one was going to come, he checked by piboting his ear around, listening intently; No, no footsteps that he could hear. Not like he cared; he wasn't DOING anything wrong anyhow, and didn't plan to. He liked her. But he knew where he stood.
Which was more to say about him than many others.
Turning back towards her, the vampire blinked his eyes, "You're small," the mocking tone had vanished and the words were instead said matteroffactly as he tilted his head to one side, some of the old childish curiosity seeping into his stance as he regarded her, "Don't remember you being quite so small," a pause followed, his tails coming to curl around his frame; he kept his distance now, allowing her to have her space, unlike when she'd been asleep, "Then again, I think I've not seen you since I was a kit; I remember I could hide under you, now you could hide under me; isn't that amusing?" well, in his defense, it WAS amusing to him, his smirk showed this even in the dark, and even despite the way his dark bangs obscured his eyes from view; he'd grown yes, but the creepiness factor about him had probably multiplied tenfold.

That voice. The female's eyes widened slightly at the sound of it. It was deeper than she remembered--in fact, she'd remembered a prepubescent voice, almost like a females. Somehow it was still recognizeable, though undoubtedly masculine. Of course, that might have been the remaining accent; after all, even the way he spoke to her had altered. By that point Diego hadn't needed to step into the actual light--what little there was filtered through the shutters--doing so only helped to further silence his old nursemaid. The last time they'd seen one another he'd barely been a teenager... now a full grown man stood in front of her, one that she might not have recognized but for the hat and accent. Gone was the merry, if somewhat morbid, kit she'd known to be replaced with someont that... well, came off as rather cold.
Violet's mouth shut with a rather noticable snap as she regarded this turn of events. He was bigger than her now... a LOT bigger. She wasn't sure how to feel about that, though a part her her shivered. Ignoring it, the female found her voice, "In a slightly ironic way, I suppose."
A pause followed, then Violet shook her head and shoulders in a canine fashion, her earrings and a single beaded decoration flopping about her ears as she did. The hard press of the beads reminded her were she'd gotten that particular adornment from. It suddenly struck her as odd that she'd never once taken it off.
A second memory: why she had gotten the token in the first place.
That secret area inside shivered again and Violet's ears laid back. She ran her eyes over her ex-foster child's new form again, then said in a shockingly soft voice, "Its been a long time... perhaps the rules did change. You've grown a lot, as you so helpfully pointed out."

"Not since yesterday they haven't, last I checked, love," the smirk was still present, even though at that point he wasn't really smirking, but rather, grinning; it still came off as the former though, since... well, it just did. His whole frame helped for it to be so, as did his stance and features, even if he meant no harm; she didn't seem to know this and the thought passed through the vampire's mind as he toyed with it.
There followed a pause during which it was obvious the male was thinking, even if he refused to move, the silence awkward as the small reunion had been; he wasn't all that sure he licked the the idea of her whinincing and looking right about to crawl up a curtain in fear. Fear of what?
What was it she feared of him?
The question managed to force a brow to arch, the male's expresion chaging from amusement, to confussion before the though of just what might have bee scaring her dawned him, "I'm not going to hurt you," a pause, "Or touch you," he added as an after thought; the fact the last claim was said with a sigh softened the tone down a few notches, enough to filter the cold out of his voice, and the male looked away again. The other thought though left unsaid, hung clearly in the air, 'less you want me to' and his ears focused upon Violet even if his eyes were not, giving her some space by doing so, amusingly enough, almost conciderate, "Actualy, I pointed out you're small, not that I have grown; You're still quie lovely though," and even though he wasn't looking at her, he'd bowed his head slightly before raising it up, his body slowly standing again, "Anyhow..."
Padding over to the door, he stood at the frame before looking over his shoulder at her, one brow raised, "You were wrong though, even though you prided yourself in knowing evernthing, Vi," and here he'd paused, almost as if tasting her name on his tongue, "I still like you," another pause, a smirk offered to her over his shoulder, eyes narrowed dangerously, "You've not taken off those beads either; they look good," he sat down at the door then, giving her even more space, and having changed the theme of what he spoke about in a mere fla two seconds; it paid to not be quite perfectly sane, and the male chuckled, "Wonder how my hat would look on you," and again he turned to look away, this time down the hall, his ears focused back on her, further giving her space, for he was quite aware what he'd said.
He was no kit.

"That's it?" The words were out of her mouth before she knew what she meant by them. Really, she still didn't know but it sounded right, and she had her confidence back. Through his little 'speech' she'd remained silent, of word and thought. They'd come running back from their little affair, however, and she was rather affronted by the children they'd brought back with them.
These children found it rather amusing to point out that Diego was hot. Mentally she rolled her eyes at this and attempted to ignore it, no matter that she agreed. To tell the truth, he was, at least in body... and his mannerisms weren't bad, either. That didn't change the fact that he was still the annoying, ever-present, whiny little brat she'd raised. The only thing that kept her from saying as much was that he wasn't acting very bratty. Of course, this was the first time they'd seen one another in months, and it was liable to be an act of some sort. Or, she simply hadn't spent enough time with him lately to see where those bratty mannerisms had gone.
Still, she was suddenly faced with the fact that he was walking out on her again, and she'd needed to say something. Running with her statement, Violet stood up to stride her way over to the door and look up at him as if she were still the larger of the pair, "You come in here to watch me sleep then slink away into your darkness the moment I wake up? Rude, Diego, I'd like to think I taught you better than that. Besides, since when have you been afraid to lay down with me. Honestly, its almost as if you've been avoiding me these... past.. months..."
Violet stopped, blinking slightly up at him. Now that she'd said it, it made a sort of twisted sense. But WHY? She had the unnerving feeling that she was putting two and two together and getting three. Where was the missing number?

A pause then, "Yuuuuuup; that's it," a brow arched at her as he turned to smile at her over his should, then the mocking edge returned, grinning, "What? Did you expect something more? Because I could gladly comply~~ though I hardly think you'd aprecite it," amusingly enough, unmoved; perhaps it was the insanty, perhaps it was the fact he'd not been around her for so long, it was hard to discern, "And actualy, not rude, just..." and here he'd paused, his paw waving in the air, circling as he remain half turned to her, obviously searching for a word, something of a playful hint in his voice as he'd spoken, "Partialy incorrect, perhaps, however, in a way partialy the right thing to do to."
That much was clear in his mind; he saw that clearly he had to leave. What? Was she the insane one now? What the hell?
"Actually, you're right; I have been avoiding you," it wasn't said as an insult; in fact, it was said smoothly, matteroffactly, as if it'd been quite obvious. He turned to face her again, his head tilted to one side, the pose oddly childish as he kpt on ear raised, efficiently keeping his hat on his head, not letting it slip, "Let me ask you this, love; why do you think I've been very well avoiding you like the plague? If you can answer that one, you can probably understand why I'd rather slip away right about now," the bratty edge he'd had as a kit was long gone, and though prone to slipping into insanity, it manifested itself in other ways; he was still fun loving, oh yes. He loved a good joke, and he loved fire still, but he'd grown. And he had been well raised after all. Despite her claim, since the fact he was willing to walk slowly out was hint enough in his mind.
He'd not moved away from her, and let her look up at him, however, he'd also not whinced away, "Okay, look at it this way, since you're obviously confused about what I meant," the mocking tone was gone, and there was still no edge of insult in his voice, his tone still smooth as he looked down at her before he narrowed his eyes and pressed his nose to her, almost as if to get a point across, "If you were a moth and I were a fire, and you teased me too far, and that by the way, includes the laying down to sleep with you, you'd get burnt," a pause followed as he lowered his head further and sniffed the side of her jaw, giving the place a small, brief nuzzle as he lifted his head up again; it'd been warm, unlike his and the warmth had slipped into him. It was a nice feel, "Do you understand now? Or do I need to use slightly more vulgar terms that I'm not prone or used to?" a brow arched slightly at her, almost as if he were confused now, not her; he'd come to terms with this long ago after all. This was no news for him.
Laying down with her, oi. Sounded inviting. But not when she didn't understand. That, and he'd be damned.
...then again, he was already damned, he decided.

She'd long been used to Diego's odd form of conversation. With him, you couldn't exactly connect each sentance, each one had to be considered for itself and the next considered seperately until you found matching components. However, him speaking now and speaking as a kit were still different as night and day. NOW he had some air of intelligence to him--sort of like an idiot savant who sounded as if he spoke gibberish and yet spoke great volumes of intelligence. Actually, that was probably the most accurate way to describe Diego as an adult.
It still took Violet a little while to truly get it. Indeed, it wasn't until his oh-so-gentle touch to her maw that she'd truly faced what he was both trying to tell ehr and trying to keep her from realizing. Both Violet's eyebrows raised, one after the other in slow succession as the full impact of it slipped into her head. He had a crush on her! Well.. that was natural, wasn't it? A lot of males...
Violet crushed that egotistical little voice in her head. No male had ever been really interested in her save for saying that she was pretty. Then again, Diego likely wasn't really interested, either. It was quite common for children to develop crushes of a sort on a guardian, this had simply lasted a little longer was all.
Still, his comments from before now clicked and she gave a little shiver that wasn't disgust OR delight. Lay with her? She really hadn't any idea what she'd been inviting, had she? A bite likely would have been the least of her troubles. Violet almost started when it occurred to her that she'd actually been welcoming the thought of being bitten. There'd always been a sort of peace to it....
Despite all of these doubts it still annoyed her that he was purposly avoiding her. She snorted and leveled one of her better "no nonsense" looks up on him. "That's hardly for you to decide, you know." Not exactly what she'd meant to say, but it fit, "beyond that there is no need for vulgarity. I know full well what you mean, just as you know what I did. If you wish to leave then get the bloody well out, but don't just run off like a coward. If you've no intention of showing your face to me again--and that includes nightly visits!--then inform me of your decision rather than simply walking off."

He smiled again as her brows raised, the thoughts finaly dawning upon her features, the gesture still looking like a smirk, mostly due to his protuding teeth, "Finaly it dawns, you my dear?" a pause as he raised a paw, a finger wagging in the air in front of her, between them, "Indeed; exactly, since it's not for me to decide, I avoid you, because you already know what my thoughts on the subject are, and I know your thoughts on the subject too," a pause, as he raised the finger to his maw, a childishly innocent gesture for a moment as he tapped it, almost as if in thought before lowering it back down, "And rather, if I don't know, you've hinted the contrary, and rather than handle the negative, faced to my afirmation, I think I'll just stay away, love."
It was strange. The words made perfect sense in his mind, and never once did the smile drop off his features, for having asumed and come to terms with this fact as long ago as he had, it was easy for him to mention it. However, mayhaps the terms used did not exactly click in her mind, "Actualy, I was just pondering watching you when you weren't looking, and quite from afar; I can't really walk out," a pause as he lowered that one finger and placed it on her nose; still that playful edge to him, unmoved by the words, or the slight snap, "And I must correct you; I wasn't walking out, but rather ...." and here he paused, tapping her nose again before removing the finger, "Just temporarily removing myself from your presence, and do please take notice of the 'temporarily', if you may, which in case you don't know, merely means 'for a short span of time', hopefuly long enough for you to have fallen asleep again."
Shamless confession; however, that much was good about him. He'd never lied. Diego did not lie; he was bluntly honest, both with his actions and his thoughts, not to mention with others too. It was simply the way he was; perhaps it was his personality, or perhaps it was the insanity that crept into his mind at times forcing him to be so, however, whatever the cause, it was obvious he was far from ashamed at this claim.
"At any rate, no, you don't understand, Violet," and the mocking tone returned as he said that sole word, however, still not an insult, "You've never understood, and it's doubtful you will at this rate for you take things at face's value instead of pausing to look past that mirror you own; perhaps there's something beyond the mirror, ever heard of 'Through the looking glass', love? You'll just keep on missing it, because what I want from you is not that what you're obviously phantoming here," again he lowered his nose to hers, however, the playful edge suddenly vanished, as did his smile, his eyes narrowing befor ethey flashed, the darkness around them merely adding to the effect; something he'd not noticed he was doing.
His wings spread slightly then, arched as he loomed, "Now then, Vi, pause to think about it. Pause your steps, and your fast paced brain for just the hint of a second and take a look, do tell me what you see," he spread his wings even further before recoiling them back, almost as if to show his size, even if they'd already settled he was larger than her, "if I had wanted to hurt you, I would have. If I had very well damn wanted to take you, I would've," his eyes narrowed further, almost into slits, "If I had wanted to truly do anything, fueled by a physical need, I could have, and notice the change from would have, to could have..." his voice had lowered to a whisper at this point, he wasn't mad, or angered, however, the lack of humour in his voice was probably disturbing. He sounded quite serious in his claim, "Yet I haven't, and instead have been merely avoiding you; coward you call me? Rather the oposite my dear; it's taken quite of great deal of courage to stop and part your side. I'd have happily stayed there, I was quite warm where I was, I could've just stayed there; it's obvious by your previous invitation you'd have kept on looking at me like a ward, and I could've easily used that to my advantage, but instead I removed myself from your presence, hmmm?"
His eyes opened fully again, lossing some of the seriousness to them, instead merely confused for a second, as if trying to see into the future, discern something he couldn't quite phantom, "Now tell me; what exactly is the use in my staying if you can't see two inches from your nose and you group me under the category you group those whom whistle at you on the street? Or those that smirk and call you beautiful?" a pause again as he pulled back barely enoughb to lick his own nose, the warmth that had gathered there almost disturbing for a second, the gesture a means to rid of it, "First, discern what others feel before judging them as cowards; it is not my place to move you, and I will not come to you less you come to me first. I have missed you, you know; A nice 'hi Diego, sparring well? Good to see you' would've been better. I get enough of the 'scotting towards a wall, trembling in fear' reactions, and tell truth, they're getting quite bothersome and boring, specialy when I've not done anything to fuel them but be what I am and look like I do; I'm not going to change for anyone, for have you?"
The humour was suddenly back as he straightened up again, "I think I lied though; I've just touched you. Oh well. My bad." and there he sat, lookin childishly innocent, his ear flicking slightly as if ridding it of an invisible fly.

It was hard not to be offended, annoyed, flabbergasted, and all number of things at both his statements and his manner of telling them. Oh no! Deigo couldn't be a normal male who actually tried to show interest first, or flirt a little bit, he had to be entirely emo about it. ... and crude. violet winced at the thought of what he could have done to her, the fact that he knew it and it had crossed his mind only made it worse.
"There are a few things we need to get straight here, Deigo, and leaving is certainly not going to solve that. First off, I didn't shriek because i saw you. I shrieked because I saw a pair of glowing red eyes in nothing more than blackness, after all it is rather dark in here and not all of us see as well in the dark as you do. Had I known it was you, I wouldn't have been scared.
"Second off, I'd say that leaving me alone does you more harm than good, as far as my heart goes. If you truly wanted it, you could try showing me that you're an adult and no longer the child I remember. This is a step in that direction, but claiming that you know my mind on the matter and won't give me a chance to make that decision myself, unless forced to do so, just reinforces the child image in my head. To clarify, this isn't a 'no' its a 'maybe'."
She shut her mouth for a moment and watched him. "As far as calling you a coward goes, for that i apologize. Perhaps not a coward, but simply thinking in the wrong direction.

"Really now?" the voice practically dripped sarcasm as the male turned to glance to the side, looking partially amused by his own thoughts; whatever they might've been was yet to be seen, and probably taking the situation at hand, it was probably Violet wouldn't have wanted a peek into his mind. H let her finish her tirade, much like she had allowed him to finish his own before raising a single finger in the air "Actually, I never claimed to know your mind, love; I don't even know mine, thus it's hardly logical for me to know yours, and second off; I need not probe myself an adult," at this point, the amused look she was giving her dropped to a flat pointed look.
That single look spoke volumes of just what was going through his mind and just how he could probe himself an adult however, he swiftly pushed the thoughts away quite physically by waving his paw in front of himself, "At any rate, apologies accepted," another pause, eyes narrowing into a smirk, "Love, my mind's always thinking in the wrong direction, and if not always, mayhaps 90% of the time; don't tell me something I know. I was born with this. I cope. Do you?" a brow arched at this point as his expression returned to it's previous silliness; there was one thing Violet had got wrong for Diego was not emoing.
Far from it.
He seemed to tetter between amused and perhaps partially annoyed, with a hint of confused, however, emo was not amongst the features. Crudeness, yes, however, and he seemed to be doing nothing to hide it, shameless to that extent. Slowly, his expression melted into indifference as he perked an ear, no doubt listening down the hallway for noise he was half sure would indicate someone approaching, yet the vampire was surprised to hear nothing that would suggest anyone coming to the fair lady's rescue, "My, my, haven't things changed; I figured you'd have a chivalry by now, what with that scream; dunno if I should be amused, relieved or partially bothered," the words had no logic tied to the previous conversation but whenever did anything the vampire said tie in with what he'd said seconds before? He seemed to be talking to her yet not quite, almost as if voicing his thoughts; blinking out of whatever daze he'd drowned in, the vampire smirked down at her again, "However, I'm sure you're quite proud though; raised me well enough to avoid this house being bloody burned down, not to mention that godawful HQ; also raised me well enough that there's been no one dropping dead out of lackague of blood; now isn't that nice?" as if to signal this was true, his stomach chose that moment to mention something akin to 'and you've not yet fed me today mate' in quite a rumbling sound.
Frowning down at his stomach, almost as if it were capable of acknowledging the glare, Diego snorted, "Bother," looking off, he seemed to forget all about the female in front of him for a moment as he counted on his fingers; what were the chances of Daffu being awake, not getting mad and heating up some blood she'd stored up for him? ... calculating by the fact she was probably asleep by now, null to... zero chances. He'd have had more luck in getting kicked out of the room, "Why does everyone sleep at night anyhow? Bloody best time in the whole 24 hours; no sun," he shoot Violet a glance, almost questioning, as if hoping she'd explain this for a moment, but then rolled his eyes, "Anyhow, if the princess would like to keep on getting her beauty sleep, I shall retire; tell truth I hadn't even planned on coming in to bother you in the first place; but I'm not sorry!" and this he accentuated with a smile, and the words ended with a chirp, however, he moved not from his spot.
For some odd reason, probably beyond him too, he seemed to be waiting, his wings having come down to a relaxed pose against his back.

Violet sat there, giving him time to share his bit. Her tails twitched behind her in turn, pondering what he said as he did. And somehow the thought where he was getting blood bothered her. A lot. In fact, she could feel her fur puffing up a little in alarm at his stomach's grumbling. If he wasn't killing others, and she knew he hated rats, and he wasn't drinking from HER... then where?
Suddenly, the thought of another female came to mind. Could there be someone else that he'd drink from? He came in his implying, though never saying, that he was in love with her, then continued to insult her and.... She could never understand him.
"I am proud, thank you very much... and perhaps that's for the best. I'm sure the rats are quite uncertain as to why you're not terrorizing them..." It was really more of a question, but she tried not to phrase it that way.
