It's true! Most people in many card games just fight one vs. the other, and that can get a little repetitive, but fortunately there's a card game that defies that logic AND makes it fun at the same time!
The World of Warcraft Trading Card Game!
Here I'll post many differant formats as to how to play the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game. Though there are differant rules and differant ways to do these formats, but I'll try to keep it as simple as possible. "It's raining... The grass is cold and muddy, the clouds are dark, and the only illumination that can reveal my enemy is a crack of lightning. We've been fighting for almost five hours now, and I'm amazed at how long I've held out. We're both tired and wounded... My enemy and I... And we both want to go home and rest in front of a warm fire. But unfortunately, only one of us will be able to go home. A crack of lightning strikes, and I see my enemy's face. He charges towards me, and I charge towards him. The lightning vanishes and all we can hear is eachothers screams and rapid footsteps... This will be the final strike before one of us can go enjoy that fire..."
All the basic rules from the instruction booklet and tournament rules apply here. Two people playing eachother in a Match (A Match being best 2 out of 3 games). Nothing that much special about it but at the same time it isn't boring since you're fighting another person.
Onyxia's Lair

Raid Format
"You're here... After running through a cave filled with perilous dangers, having to watch most of your friends sacrifice themselves to keep the team striving on... You're finally here... You stand in the middle of a humongous cavern, filled with active lava, stalagtites, and several of your surviving friends, and before you sits up a gigantic, black dragon named Onyxia. She knows why you're here, she realises what you'll try to do, and she grins at you thinking you won't succeed. You ready your weapon, as do your friends, and with a headstrong charge, you enter fate..."
Onyxia's Raid Deck is the first legal deck in the world to have such destructive power, that it takes more than 3 people to take it down all together. In fact it was designed to do so! It features something called a "Raid Format," where 3-5 people play against one person who uses the Raid Deck. The object of the game is for the 3-5 people to team up and attack Onyxia, who is the Raid Deck's Hero. Only it's not so simple because Onyxia can attack with an ATK power, summon countless mini-dragons called whelps to block and attack, and completely DESTROY all 3-5 players in under 21 turns. If World of Warcraft Trading Card Game was a video game, Onyxia would be a Boss (And she is in the MMO!). This is also one of the few decks in the world that come with a "Treasure Pack," which is an exclusive limited version of a Booster pack. What this does is it offers the player of Onyxia a choice; that if a team of 3-5 people beat you, you can reward them with the Treasure Pack. What's inside the Treasure Pack? Well... That's a surprise...
Errodu's Tower

You find a letter addressed to you...
"Hello! My name is Errodu and I've been monitering your frequent activities around Azeroth! Watching you slay this and that, doing so many quests, that I hereby qualify you to take on my latest challenge! Head southwest towards the brightest star and think to yourself as to what you are, and when you're done you'll find me! Well, not really find me, but you'll find my challenge! Hope to see you soon! Don't die now!
Imagine this: you found my tower, and at the top of that tower is a reward worth fighting for. But to get to the top of the tower, you have to go through a countless number of enemies who will stand in your way. There are 3 decks, one deck contains all sorts of monsters, another deck contains abilities for those monsters, and the last deck contains a Boss and his abilities. At the beginning of the game, I roll a six-sided die and whatever result I get (lets say a 3) I would draw that many monster cards from my monster deck (3 random monsters). If you defeat those monsters, you'd then be able to move up to the next level in the tower (Though you start outside, so before you go to level 2, you'd go to level 1). There are 5 levels, and a special "effect" for every level you go up.
Level 5: Boss
Level 4: +2 to die roll result
Level 3: +1 to die roll result
Level 2: Monsters have +1 Health
Level 1: Monsters have +1 ATK
Outside: No Effect
Level 4: +2 to die roll result
Level 3: +1 to die roll result
Level 2: Monsters have +1 Health
Level 1: Monsters have +1 ATK
Outside: No Effect
If you manage to beat the tower, then you get a reward inside of a treasure chest! What's inside of the treasure chest? A free booster pack? Two free booster packs? A Rare card? You'll never know unless you reach the top!
Troll's Voodoo Stew

"Wicked, 'mon... You try dis here stew, you be jammin'..."
So I did. I lifted up the coconut bowl and took a swig at the steamy green liquid. It didn't have any taste or feel to it, but once I swallowed it my throat began to burn and sting. I immidiately dropped the bowl which fell to the ground, in which its spilled contents burned a hole into the floor. I fell to my knees, I could no longer breathe or see. I could feel myself sweat and indigestion hit me in my stomach. I couldn't tell when it would end but as soon as I thought it was over I could breathe again. Standing up I felt my left hand grow hot and my right hand grow cold. I looked down at them and I saw I was holding both fire and ice within the palms of my hand. I looked up in shock at the witch doctor and he opened up a shelf.
"So how you be payin'?"
Many card shops who are just starting the World of Warcraft Tournaments are using this format. It's actually called a Sealed Pack Format because you get 6 random booster packs and construct a deck of 30 or more cards along with a hero of your choosing from the 6 packs you just got. The only rules are: you cannot add any "outside" cards into your deck, you may only use the cards from the 6 booster packs that you recieved; you may not trade or switch out cards during the course of the tournament; you can take 15 of your left over cards and use them for a Side Deck.
To anyone who has never played the World of Warcraft Trading Card Game before, this format is the best way to understand how to play.
