To be saved, do you have to be baptised? I personally believe no, mainly because of Romans 10:9. "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in you heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;" it never mentions baptism until later after confessing your belief in Jesus. what are your guys' thoughts?

Baptism is just a public statement of your faith. It is not necessary, but it is a good thing to have. It's not like you'll get the heaven and God will be like 'Oh, too bad. You didn't get baptized. Next!' I believe that we as Christians should do it, but it isn't an necessary condition for being saved.

baptisim is like a wedding ring, it is a symbol... you dont need a ring to be maried, but it shows everyone that you are... baptisim connects you to your church... i dont know why, it just does....

" For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them." Ephesians 2:8-10 A Special Sermon

Saved by faith, not acts. That's like saying you have to donate a certain amoung of money or something to go to heaven. Its assumed that if you are saved, you will be baptised. However if you had to *do* something to be saved, that would be saved by acts, not faith, and sorta undo some of God's grace plans.

I don't think anyone NEEDS to be baptized to be saved. That just doesn't make all that much sense, I mean there are those who do not go to church but have a strong belief in the Christian God and they are not baptized but since they believe big time in "God" then they should be saved. Your views on that are a good view and make sense, because if you ahd to go thorugh an act to be saved, it would kind of defeat the whole purpose of having only to blelieve to be saved.
