I wrote this poem while half-asleep in Language Arts. About, 3 months ago.

I really liked that. Wonderful flow of words.

These are two poems I wrote and they sort of go together so I'm just going to post them both. But personally, I like the second one better.

Journey of the Sun

Pale pink arms reaching over the horizon
Gently calling to life
The song of the birds

The east brightening to welcome the dawn
As the west says good-bye to the moon
The owl goes to hide
As the robin awakes with singing song

The sky turns from pink to blue
As the arms continue to climb Long arms reaching for the unseen
Chase the moon to where it rest

It brings warmth to the world
Hanging so high above
Racing across the sky
Or taking its sweet time
Until those long arms reach down

Pale blue to pink to midnight blue
Giving the moon dominance once more
As the sun rest
So that it may continue to take
The journey across the sky

Journey of the Moon

A crescent moon hanging high
Lighting the world of night
Twinkling stars there to guide
The being of borrowed delight

Running across the sea of sky
Following the light of solar fireflies
Forever being chased by a jealous mistress
Who forever yearns for her stolen light

A being older than earth and time
Whose doom is sealed with the waves
A being whose older than all
Save for nothingness itself

Waxing and waning
Never older than five weeks
It will disappear
A world into the darkness of night

And the mistress will search
But all in vain
Until the next night
When the cycle begins anew

And the fireflies of the sky
Only judges to the immortal chase
Will guide forever
The journey of the night
