Anyone have any ideas what I should call my guild if/when I get around to it? The premise is much the same as this guild with a focus on writing. I dunno, I got the gold but I don't know what I should do...

It's a big responsibility. It takes up more time than you would think. Also, there are a lot of disappointments... Especially with some members. But the plus side is you get to see people learn new things, grow and have fun doing it. I like watching people form relationships with each other or turn a fight into a civilized debate. There are quite a few writing guilds out there already, so you should throw a twist on it. But I have no idea what. sweatdrop

Maybe we could collaborate ninja Work together...do guildy idea stuff.... I have a couple of ideas, but I'm SCARED gonk *ish a wuss really*

Bah, don't be scared, if worse comes to worse, clean out the guild!
I know it's a big responsibility, my best friend runs his own guild and I help him out as much as I can but having a limited number of members who are mostly all off on school leave is kinda hard to organize anything.
I don't know what kind of twist I'd put on it either sweatdrop , obviously I don't want it to be a generic writing guild, I'll have to stop around and gather ideas from other guilds ^_^.
I also know it's hard having started my WWC in the writing forum, I had hoped the first would go over well seeing as how it was free to get in, but oh well, might work out better in the months to come.
I think my biggest problem would be getting people to join, anything after that would be pretty easy.

I dunno, I guess you would have to be pretty creative because there are probably a bunch of other writing guilds out there, so u need to make ur guild special somehow. For a name... *takes a moment to think*...maybe something like "The Guild of WhiteStream" blaugh ...kidding. Okay, maybe you could call it something like...oh, now this one's real good, "The White Stream of Fantasy". Thank you, thank you! *bows to crowd* Yes, these brilliant ideas do just come to me! blaugh
Okay, really, I can't think of a good name, but I suggest you have a lot of fun activities like contests, u kno, dream avi, contests, a weekly challenge (like this guild), lottery, you could even have an idea contest to improve the guild! And if you want to do some other things in there, think of the things u like, u can hav a subforum for anime if u like it, u can have a personal gallery, just to show off ur art skills, anything really. for someone who knows nothing about owning a guild, i sure am babbling on. sweatdrop

I just created it yesterday!
The guild's name is called The Demon's Den and is under heavy construction. I've got loads of ideas and my friend will be doing all my banners and such, bless those more artistically capable than I.
Right now I only have the welcome mat down and some rules, so no point in going to see it.

Desert_Demon I just created it yesterday! The guild's name is called The Demon's Den and is under heavy construction. I've got loads of ideas and my friend will be doing all my banners and such, bless those more artistically capable than I. Right now I only have the welcome mat down and some rules, so no point in going to see it. the Demon Tell me when you're really open so I can join ^_^ ...unless you don't like me gonk I can be creative and active and write! I swear! I'm just so lazy and brain-dead right now from school! OH! If I read right, you're paying people to critique people's work? Yes? I actually thought of that a few weeks ago...when I joined this guild and a dead-ish guild. I think that if you have people that actiively critique people's work creatively all the time that people would want to join 3nodding And if you have to PAY critics to do it, then sure <.< sounds awesome... *still likes that idea* Now onto MY guild. Any ideas you people have that I can do with it? ninja Maybe a writing/RP guild? (wow, so original e.e) Any specialized guilds that yall would like to be created? Hmm, eh, eh? I'll move to my open thread if you want me to Demon <_<;

I'll move to my open thread if you want me to Demon <_<; I was just saying no one should go see it because I don't have any funky graphics like we do here, once I get more gold since I'll be totally tapped out from my Santa Challenge I'm going to hire him to do some really nice banners and an opening scrawl like Muse has here. I had the idea to post a very long, detailed contract editor's thread last month but right as I went to post it Gaia froze on me and my hour of hard work and thought got wiped away. But yes, once I get a decent crew, maybe even a few people from this guild if they can spare the time I'll be taking on contracts then if I get too many I'll start putting word out on the forums that I'm looking for contract editors. I want my guild to be a lot like a publishing company and not just another guild you post shorts and poems in and no one reads them. But at the very least it's a pipe dream right now because I have no bank for forums and for some reason my creativity is seeping out of me so I might take it up more seriously in January when I'm back at school. Right now I'm just laying the frame work, I have no problems with people joining but there won't be anything happening in the guild due to lack of time and energy and creativity. the Demon

Not like the front one on this guild though. That suckah is good sweatdrop and like custome made or something sweatdrop But I got a friend that splices images together and makes some cool banners you might like 3nodding Cheap friend...I'm also having her make another banner for this guild XD

It's all right, my friend studies at OCAD, the Ontario Academy of Art and Design and he works magic with every medium he touches.
It's a bonus that I've known him for... about 15 years, I think I can get mine pretty cheap.
