Which leads to a chicken and egg problem. If we need the Battle System to determine clan/guild structure then there is little point in reforming this current Guild as we would just be shooting in the dark and would need to reform anyways.
From what I understand of the BS given the information in the BS suggestion thread and linked videos players will not be locked into Classes or type of character. If the Ring based system holds into the final release then Guild members will be able to change their skills as the game and guild demands.
There are other ways to form Clans/Guilds then for mechanics prepossess. Story is another way. We could begin by generation our own story pre-Battle System and carry it over into the real one when it starts. This is more RP driven but is another way to handle it.
My original concern was that Ideal based Clans would generate to much infighting for beneficial discussion.

This is true, but just because our skills are interchangable, doesn't mean we'll always be able to.
And it would be better if character were focused. Technically speaking, having character who can perform an entire clan's work would be weak in all areas, i.e. "Jack of all Trades, Master of None."
Therefore it would still be beneficial to keep clan's based on character's abilities.
Although, I agree we should wait for later to reform the guild, when we finally have a Battle System to work with.

I actually don't see what's wrong with a Guilds system focused around specific talents such as Mages' Guild or Warriors' Guild. Then you have Clans which include different members of the Guilds or perhaps non-guild members as well. Fun you should mention JoaTMoN as I often find joy and profit in playing a cousin, JoataMoS (Jack of all Trades and Master of Some). That Mastery is often in an area that is in most demanded by the average impromptu group or that will provided added benefit in duplicate. Perhaps I shall declare a Clan/Faction here and now. The 'Guild Lords', whose members are Guilders. The Guild Lords is an alliance of four major guilds: Warriors, Sneaks, Mages, and Healers; along with many smaller and more specialized guilds. A Guilder's first allegiance is to Guilds and then to his or her specific guild(s). If a Guilder shows aptitude for skills of two or more guilds they may attempt membership of those guilds concurrently. Guilders who show no aptitude, or have a broad array of skills at levels unacceptable for current guilds, shall be called General Guilders and still hold a position within the Guild Lords as whole.
As no Battle System yet exists for guilds to use to create their entry requirements all members of the Guild Lords are currently held at General Guilder status with no rank higher then Novice.
