What does it mean when one has a dream about work/school?
My sister was asleep the other night and she sometimes talks in her sleep when she's stressed out, but she was doing math equations in her sleep! We can laugh about it now, but its still a worrying thing. She hasn't had an episode in a long time, and now its back xp
Short of sending her to a therapist or something is there anything that can be done, and what does it mean?

Because most people spend a good portion of their day at work it could be a back drop to help set the mood, but it can be an indication of anxiety
School can also be about anxiety, but also childhood insecurities or recognition of something the person just learned

Math could mean she needs to be rational and reduce the involvement of emotions in her current life situations

That makes sense, she's like the backbone in her group, and for a price she'll help almost anyone in her group of friends. But she puts up with a lot of crap I wouldve walked away from a long tiime ago. Of course as a Sagittarius I'm not known for my patience, while capricorns are pretty tolerant of rabid stupidity xd

talking in ones sleep is actually very common, so don't fret about that. I agree with Thyna though. It does tend to come about more when stress is higher, and if like you say, she is the backbone of the group, maybe try to get her to hang out without her group for a day or two. Have a sister night or a family girls night out.

Dreams are supposed to help your body deal with the waking life, so it is natural for us to dream odd things and do odd things in our sleep. If she starts sleep walking, then I would get a little nervous just because it is dangerous (she could trip over something, although my uncle walked down a flight of stairs and OVER a VACUUM CLEANER, into the kitchen and woke up with the fridge door open!)

Next time she starts doing math in her sleep, see if she is doing her homework! write down the answers and see if they are right! rofl

Funny thing is, I told her about it the next morning and she said that the problems I quoted back to her were things she didnt know how to do when she was awake.

As for the night out thing, we actually spend a lot of time watching movies and going for walks, going out to dinner and shopping (when we can afford to) but I don't like to sleep with her when she's agitated, more than once she thought I was someone else and tried to strangle me in my sleep >>

oh dear...hmm..I wonder if seeing a counselor might help her to release her stress in a more productive way before she sleeps. Just a counselor should be able to help. No need to pay outrageously for a psych.

I think that is what she might need though. Just to release some of the stress before she sleeps. Does she meditate? If not, you might help her. explain to her that it may help with her dreams and her sleep "fun".

I also believe that meditation could help her...with alot of things. However every time I suggest it, she gets a strange look on her face, though its one I've seen plenty of times before (she's searching for a tactful way of telling you no) its somewhere between tolerance and pity and then tells me that she wishes she could but she cant (which is her way of saying that she is refusing to try) since she doesn't have the concentration. This of course is a load of hogwash and we all know it. And the whole sleep walking thing...well it wouldn't be the first time. She used to do it as a toddler stare
