I am sure you will cosplay Kurama one day ^_^ The green eye problem can be fixed with a pair of contacts and as for the hair, well perhaps let it grow or like you said get a wig or extensions. This is just my personal opinion, but I would go with the wig, unless you are willing to dye your hair fire-engine red and cut it like Kurama's. That would be some real dedication to his character if you did that, I can tell you. Wigs might be easier to work with though, since you can slap it on someone else and have them sit still while you style it... That's what I did with my friend when I had to style my wig last year. She was so patient with me as I cursed and fumbled around. However, in the end it's up to you as the cosplayer and fan to see just how far you want to take things. When you do finally do the cosplay though you must post pictures ^_^

Awww. Haha! You're post almost makes me wanna go out and get my hair styled like one of the characters. : DDD I know that wasn't you're approach or anything but...yeah I REALLY wanna cosplay! D :

I think I'd like to do a Keiko, but I don't think people would recognize me as much if I did. Keiko just doesn't get a lot of publicity, you know? People who don't even WATCH Yu Yu Hakusho know Hiei and Kurama's characters just because they're shown so much, but just about ANY cosplayer knows Kurama I'm guessing. He seems a LOT easier to play than the anti-gravitational haired Hiei. ^^;

I've actually wanted to cosplay Keiko myself, I have the brown hair and what not, that and it would be a gerat excuse to slap any random Yusuke cosplayers I find XD. Truth be told I was hoping to cosplay Keiko last year, when I first wore my Kurama cosplay. However, my boyfriend at the time said the only character he would ever cosplay was Kuwabara... Sadly I could not convince him to cosplay Yusuke and I don't really want to cosplay Yukina because I just don't have the body or facial features to pull her off. Okay, granted I don't have the body or facial features for half of the characters I have cosplayed, but I really didn't want to try to pull off Yukina because I really didn't think I would look good. So, Kurama was chosen instead just because I knew it would be hella fun. I will however, cosplay Keiko one of these days, I am just not sure when. *shrug*

Hahaha! EXACTLY! Who WOULDN'T want an excuse to slap Yusuke cosplayers?! Lol XD

I think I could pull her off alright, though I'd have to get over my fear of slapping people. I think I could actually pull off a few people just because I'm an actress. I can GET INTO character and I LOVE it. And I'd LOVE to cosplay as a guy actually just so I could give all the fangirls some looovve. ; D

I would die if a Hiei/Kurama/Kuwabara/Yusuke/ANY YYH COSPLAYER gave me a hug. I don't know about you. Lol : DDD

Oh giving fangirls love is SO much fun! I remember doing that last year when I was dressed as Kurama. They had karaoke at the convetion I was attending and myself and the Hiei cosplayer I ran into got up and sang "In the End" by Linkin Park and pretended to have a "lover's spat" fan girls went nuts and we had so much fun. Of course the very next day I decided to do Karaoke again, this time on my own. I sang "Frozen" by Madonna, and fangirls ate it up because I would cast a sultry look at the crowd and pass my rose over them. It was so cool to hear fangirl cheers for my Kurama cosplay.

Hahaha! That sounds AMAZING. I wanna sooo bad. I would SERIOUSLY just make a LIST of songs to perform, or cute actions to be doing that'd make fan girls go WILD. : DDD

For Hiei, giving them a few glances curiously then grinning. For Kurama, recite them poetry. Just sooo many things!!! For Yusuke and Kuwabara, pretend to show-off then purposefully fail miserably. Lol >w< I'd LOVE to do that so much. But I dropped the hint to my mom that I wanna go, so maybe I can go one of these days. I can't wait. : DDDD

So how many people tend to recognize you at conventions? How many YYH cosplayers are there? How many other animes are there? Do they outnumber you? I wanna be prepared! : DDDDD

Well the only reason I am not recognized too often when I wear a Yu Yu Hakusho cosplay is because in Canada, Yu Yu Hakusho was never aired on TV. There are only a few die hard anime fans here who have seen it and will recognize me at a convention. I was pretty lucky when I wore the costume this year. The convention I attend has been expanding over the years and is attracting more fans from the states, so more people knew who I was and commented on my cosplay or asked for my photo. That made the whole rush to get a cosplay together this year worth it... It also made me really sad that I couldn't have gotten my Kuronue cosplay together, I just didn't have the time, but I would have love to have worn it at the convention this year. As for how many Yu Yu Hakusho cosplayers are there... well it varies from year to year, however usually there are only like a couple of Kurama cosplayers or something. This year was really great because there were 2 Kurama cosplayers(including myself), 2 Yusuke cosplayers, and according to rumor a Hiei cosplayer(that I never ran into). Where as last year there was just myself and a Hiei cosplayer.

Now, I assume you live in the states, so I think you have a pretty good hope of being recognized if you wear a Yu Yu Hakusho cosplay down thre. After all it was aired on the Cartoon Network for a good long while. There is also a higher chance of more Yu Yu Hakusho cospayers being at a convention you go to... However, it can depend on size too... You're more likely to see more Yu Yu Hakusho cosplayers at a larger convention simply because there are more people. Just be sure to keep your eyes peeled is all.

I would say that having ideas in mind for poses or things to appease fans is a good idea as well... Cosplay is not only about dressing like that character, but embodying the character as well. I mean being OOC is okay of course, but having like certain poses for photographs or lines is great because it just adds to the experience and even the costume. You also really have a lot of fun, I LOVE posing for photos because you can get so creative and make the characters do what you want them to, or what you think they would look cool doing. The most important thing about cosplaying is being creative and having fun.

I would absolutely adore cosplaying Shizuru. She's the only one I look anything like, though she's a lot taller than I am. Of course, I probably wouldn't get recognized unless I hung out with a Kuwabara cosplayer...and I'm sure they're fairly rare, aren't they? There's a guy I know who kinda looks like him, but he has no idea what YYH is. Blah. Those pictures are teh s**t, by the way.

Dude, I'd LOVE to cosplay as Kuwabara. Though I would be a very scrawny Kuwabara...with a very high voice...and no predominant cheek bones...and would obviously be wearing a wig...and with hips. ^^;

Best Kuwabara cosplayer ever. Haha ; D

My hair is already a pink..it was pinkish red....so I don't mind dying it X3...actually I was messing with my hair one day and thought: I can pull of a middle school Shuuichi, but that's it...

I love Kurama's hair! I'd so get it styled like him X3.

I might be able to go to a con in a month....maybe....probably not......but anyway, i don't think I'd have the money..so I'd have to get creative...

I'd love to do a cosplay with ppl of all the Yu Yu girls wearing PJS!!!!! Remember Botan's curlers at the base of her bangs! ahhhhh! That'd be great!!!!!! And it'd be super if Keiko carried around a Yusuke plushie X3 hehehe
