No, the games and books are based on the tabletop game.

...Is it about the same thing? 2012 (2011?) and magic came back or whatever?

As far as old RPGs go, I always prefered CP2020 over Shadowrun... I used to have this book called "The Ravagers" that was a CP2020 story that had character sheets ofr all the main characters in the back of the book... not sure where it went, though...

EDIT: I just looked on wiki and found the author's name: Stephen Billias. Anyone have any information on him??

Chrono Trigger is the best RPG ever, I don't care what anyone says.

I wasn't aware that CT had a pencil & paper- style game... where can I get the Core Rulebook, I'd love to try it out some time...

I think he was just confused as to what we were discussing, I haven't been able to find any info on it...

But the Waryhammer 40K RPG looks badass... it's supposed to come out soon, isn't it??
EDIT: Jan 2008 is the expected release... Official website

Hmmm I am actually reading Snow Crash at the moment. Its got to be one of the best books I have ever read. Truthfully, it planted the seed of CP in my heart I guess I could say haha. My Uncle has ordered Neuromancer for me so I am excited about that.

Snow Crash is a good read-- one of my favorites. I'm a big fan of Neuromancer as well, though sometimes Gibson can be hard to get through. Neuromancer is pretty much a page-turner.

I'm not saying Stephenson can't be hard, though...his Baroque Cycle was on of the toughest things I've ever read.
