Adghal stood up straight and eyed the boy as he sent another raspberry his way, but ignored it for now. Instead, he simply watched. His arms crossed, and his eyes twitched faintly as the boy just stood there. At least he wasn't falling.. always a good sign. His eyes lifted to rest on Tomoyo, instantly softening. A smile twitched at the corner of his lips as he watched her affectionately, reaching out for their son to walk into her arm- ... wait.
His eyes snapped back down to the boy, and widened just slightly. He.. he was doing it. He was walking..
Adghal's frigid and stern appearance melted in a heartbeat. Look at him go! He dropped down to his knees, grinning broadly in pride. His son was quickening with every step, until finally he reached his mother's arms and collapsed against her with a squeal. Adghal suddenly realized how tense his body had become during those long few seconds that the boy had walked, because once he was safe in his mother's arms the man practically collapsed back, letting out a sharp hiss.
"You did it!" He almost screamed out, tilting forward to crawl towards Damien and Tomoyo, wrapping his arms around both of them. It was a rare moment of genuine pride, one in which he held no bones about showing his emotions. "I know you could do it, Damien." He muttered into the boy's hair, laughing softly.
"That's my boy."
Now to drop him off a cliff.

Tomoyo had been ready to move forward to grab her child when he began to toddle towards her, trying to control his look of triumph and delight. Her shoulders drew up in anticipation, her hands coming to her mouth out of habit. She floated between wanting to move up to make his travel short or to simply sit there and wait; the latter was chosen seeing as she couldn't move in the first place.
Oh! Damien was walking!
It was his squeal that broke her from her reverie, pulled her from that limbo she had fallen into. Her arms were instantly about the boy, the breath she had been holding escaping. She didn't even hear herself begin to laugh, it just happened...a soft bell-like noise at first, until she realized that...well, Damien had walked!
She tore her face away from the child's hair as Adghal approached, her eyes glittering with unshed tears. She knew it was silly, to cry over something like this, but the sight had brought a profound happiness to her...who would have thought she would have cried over something so...simple!
And yet it wasn't so trivial. Walking would lead to running - of both legs and mouth...she bit the inside of her cheek as she leaned against the demon, looking down at the jovial (albeit a bit confused - did it really make them that happy?) babe in her arms. Could she really stand for her angel to grow up? She shook her head and laughed, mentally slapping herself for thinking such things at a time like this.
"Now he'll have to learn to talk a-and..." She wouldn't cry. She wouldn't!
