:BIG smile!:.
We're learning this GORGEOUS song in choir called Dreams of Thee, and we learned... I dunno, a third of it last class? Well, I wanted to know the rest (I'm wierd like that) So I found the starting note on the piano, and Found a recording of it, and sang through the whole thing, sight-singing.
FOR LIEK THE FIRST TIME EVER ON MY OWN! Hitting right notes and everything!
I am SO proud of myself, and I had to share rofl
It's like a big step up for me in my musical ability, which is my life. I'm so happy ^_^
Anyone else had moments like this?

I like to sit in my choir dress in my room and sing through the music we're working on in class. It makes me happy to hear the alto part right for once. gonk

That's awesome. Sight singing can be tough, so when you can it's most amazing.
I felt really accomplished when I got a solo in the first choir concert I was in at UC Berkeley.

Choir is seriously the only reason why I bother to get up so early in the morning.. (its first friggin period!! ugh.. *dies*)
and I love it whenever we get new music. We listen to the recording of it first, then jump right into learning it. A lot of the time, me and my wonderful altos (okay, the other people too ^^) get it mostly right the first time around..
but it's all because of our wonderful director and pianist. *hugs them.. metaphorically*
and it feels really good when we learn a new song.
