Well, being the horrible person crazy writer that I am, I honestly prefer him being evil like that, because it puts a lot of spice to the story. I mean, him being "evil" (or any semblance of that) pushed Sakura and Naruto to become stronger. And that does a lot of good, especially for Sakura, since she didn't really amount to much (in ninja skill) before training with Tsunade.

Honestly, though - I don't think "evil" is the word. He's not evil, just misunderstood. Or misguided. He thinks Orochi's ways are better, but they're just morally unsound. He just needs to be put on the right path again, that's all. The boy doesn't necessarily mean any harm - he just wants Itachi dead by his own hands. Otherwise, if Sakura and Naruto don't stand in his way to gaining power with Orochi, he wouldn't hurt them.

Then again, he wouldn't want to go back being fine-and-dandy friends with them, either. That's why they have to fight to bring him back.

I know, but I hate the fact that he goes w/ Orochimaru. I hate Orochimaru! He brainwashed Sasuke and he'll do anything for power. He's desprate. confused

I used to hate Orochimaru with all my passion, no doubts for what he did (not only to Sasuke, but also the Hokage), but when you really think about it you'll see Kishi's point. It really makes sense and the plots flow by nicely. Sasuke is like, what I like to call, a golden thread that holds some characters and plots together...it will be interesting, believe it! Right now, I think it's the best solution for Sasuke to have gone after Orochimaru. It will be worth the wait, and if Sasuke was to throw all this goal (as in avenging his clan) then what makes up his character? That's why Kishimoto is such a great author, and artist =)

But I believe until it actually happened that Sasuke will be brought back to Konoha alive. Even if time passes by every second, Naruto and Sakura's feelings for Sasuke won't change to the way that they won't be comfortable around Sasuke, if you know what I mean. I've seen some movies and read some books that characters tend to change after time and some of the things can not be turn back to the same as in the past, but in this case..it's different..as least in my opinions..until that time comes my faith will stay this way :3

Anyone who says that they hate Sasuke or Orochimaru because they're "Evil" Should be shot in the head. Neither of them are actually "evil". They just both are broken inside and want power. Orochimaru wants power because he is a crazy looni shot and Sasuke wants power because he wants to feel better for the first time in a really long time. I mean, he will do anything to get power so that he can feel normal, and Orochimaru came along and offered Sasuke power. He obviously couldn't refuse, for he would be throwing out an oppourtinity of being normal. So Sasuke isn't "evil". I truely think that noone is completely "evil", just simply misunderstood.

OK..OK.. i was a sasusaku fan and still am but this sasuke thing is really begining to PISS ME OFF!! i mean at first i thought that yea well maybe sasuke and sakura have a chance 4laugh but now i think that it wont happen!!! crying
and sasuke is being such a jerk!!!!! fighting his own friends?! i think that naruto and sakura should just ignore sasuke and wait for him to come when ever he feels like it scream !!! i really just wanna know if sasuke and sakura will end up together scream ..i can't take this any more seariously!!! what is he evil or not confused ?

I really don't mind Sasuke being 'evil'.

He may be the antagonist of the story, but that doesn't mean he's completely crossed the line. As far as we know, he's only killed those who have fought back, while an evil person would go out and kill innocent people like children.
Like Bri said, he only wants power. He may have gone about getting it in the wrong way but that doesn't mean he doesn't have any good left in him.

If your definition of evil is "killing ruthlessly," then Sasuke isn't evil, quite yet.

I don't think he's under a spell or anything, it's more like Orochimaru was playing with his mind. Sasuke was obssessed with killing Itachi, and he wanted to do it quickly, and apparently Oro knew that and messed him up. I think when he got the bite it was just to make Sasuke realize how he can get stronger to kill Itachi. He got all badass with a purple aura around him and he was beating people up. Sasuke was probably like, "Holy Crud, I got stronger!" or something like that. If it was anyone other then Sasuke, then they probably wouldn't go to Oro, unless Oro gave them a reason to. Orochimaru is one sick man. I'm curious how Sasuke could live with a rapist with such a long tongue and messed up body for three years. =.=

And I don't think Sasuke's evil, just confused and in alot of pain. I mean, come on, his whole clan was murdered when the poor kid was ten.
