Braxon is located in the Federation Inner Rim, in the Braxon System. In the second wave of Confederate colonization, Braxon was settled first by Humans, then by the Antigans not too long after. The two races feuded politically and economically for control over the planet and thusly the entire system was ravaged by war until the Confederate Senate had to step in. With blessing from the Emperor, the Senate ruled that both races would share control of the system. The planet was divided up between the both of them, and both were awarded two colonies in the system. After the ruling, the two races intertwined and formed the bulk population of Braxon. The only real minority on the planet is a small city of Korumians who migrated closer to the Core. Braxon is a primary producer of turbolift and hovercraft engines, and was, in fact, the planet that pioneered the turbolift engine.
During the Galactic Civil War, Braxon rebelled against the Confederacy Empire as the Restoration Alliance drew near. When the detachment arrived, the planet was already in the hands of the rebels with only minor damage to the cityscape. The Braxons joined forced with Restoration Alliance and pledge many soldiers and resources to the war effort. Braxon served as a staging area for Coreward invasion. After the end of the war, Braxon was one of the first signatures of the Galactic Federation Charter. Following the signing of the Charter, Tarsonian rebels attempted to assassinate the Braxon governor, but failed due to the timely intervention of Federation security officials. The attempt polarized the Braxon people against the Tarsonians, even leading to protests in the streets that forced many loyal Tarsonians, Hytans and those allied to the Tarsonians to flee the planet. After the end of the war, many refugees returned to Braxon, still feeling the loyalty to Braxon.
Recently, an anomaly has been detected in orbit of the planet than many scientists believe could be a tear in the universe that allows for quicker intergalactic travel. A large mechanized gate now stands over the anomaly, controlling its degeneration and usage.

High Orbit, Braxon Brax System
The Galactic Federation StarFleet Third Armada flagship Black Sword appeared with a flash in a high orbit over the fifth planet in the Brax System. Admiral Frank Catton hailed Braxon Orbital Control and informed them that the forces coming to construct the station would be arriving any moment and instructed them to redirect the space traffic according to the planet set up by the Governor. Then he sat back to await the arrival of the Eos Task Force.

Brax System High Orbit above Braxon Task Force Eos
A number of bright flashes high above the fifth planet marked the arrival of Task Force Eos. The ships of Eos were relatively spread out with the warships seemingly on the outside of the formation and the auxiliary ships as well as the Dawn's Light in the center of the formation. On board the ships, the various commanding officers had their bridge crews bringing up displays and readouts of Braxon as well as its planetary defenses. Even though they were in friendly territory, the commanding officers felt the need to remain aware and cautious of their surroundings.

High Orbit, Braxon
A wide array of defense stations, ranging in size from 1.2 kilometers to 5 kilometers in size as well as over a thousand small weapon platform satellites is what the Eos Task Force would discover, all with their weapons powered down. A planetary shield, currently inactive, would also be detectable. The planet itself, a Class-M world, very Earth-like in appearance and population, has an atmosphere of a nitrogen-oxygen mix and is primarily iron in composition. A liquid-solid nickel core makes up the center of the planet. Overall, the world is very much like Earth.
Braxon Orbital Control as well as the FSV Black Sword hailed the Eos Task Force flagship Dawn's Light, with priority from the Black Sword. Admiral Catton was requesting an open channel with the Vice Admiral.

The ships in the Task Force went to condition green and the personnel went about their normal business, after seeing that all was well. In fact a large number of people gathered at the observation areas of their ships to view the planet and its Earth-like beauty.
OSS Dawn's Light Bridge From his command chair, the Rear Admiral bypassed the communications station and opened up a dual communication with the FSV Black Sword and Braxon Orbital Control. "This is Rear Admiral Scott, go ahead."

Admiral Catton, holding rank over the ground traffic controller, spoke first. Well, gentlemen, first I'd like to welcome you to my homeworld and to share its beauty with you. The ground traffic controller is currently clearing the space lanes around the site selected for the construction of your station. In a moment, he'll transfer the coordinates to you."

The communication shifted and the Lieutenant in charge of Braxon Orbital Control came on. "Rear Admiral, we have selected coordinates from point oh-one-eight to post oh-two-seven for the construction of your station. I'm transmitting the exact location to you now." When he did, it showed an empty area of space in the defensive screen that allowed for the construction of a rather large station with room for added defenses.

The Rear Admiral nodded to Admiral Catton after he finished speaking. "It is a pleasure to be welcome. Your homeworld reminds me very much of my own." The Rear Admiral was probably was of the older generation of OSF personnel who still hailed from Earth as their homeworld. The majority of the younger officers were born mostly on UHG colonies nowadays.
Looking at the half of the screen that displayed the Lieutenant from the Braxon Orbital Control. "Confirmed, Lieutenant. We have received coordinates, and I'm transferring them to the auxiliary ships charged with construction of the station now. Once they get into their position, we will move the rest of the ships into that area of space and stop blocking your traffic."
((Do you want me to create the station in this thread, or start a new one? Either way is good with me.))

{Uh, create a new thread for interaction with the station, I'd think. You'd have to come out of lightspeed in this thread to travel over to the other one, but that's about it. I think it would be better, otherwise I might forget your station exists in this thread. X_X}

"Copy that Dawn's Light. I've been informed if you need any assistance that Braxon will be willing to assist in anyway possible. Several hotels and resorts will offer reduced prices for any of your crew who would like down time." And he prattled on for a little while longer, informing the Admiral that most businesses on Braxon were willing to offer reduced prices or package deals to OSF personnel.

"It is gracious of your government and businesses to treat us so warmly. I will notify the CO's of the ships to allow their crews rotation shore leave, so that all of us may get a chance to enjoy your planet and hospitality. But for now we will move into our construction zone." With that said the channel between the Dawn's Light and Braxon Orbital Control Room closed.
A few moments later the Rear Admiral issued orders to the ships in the Task Force and they all fired up their sublight engines and moved into the area of Braxon's orbital space that had been cleared for the construction of the station. Along the way a number of transports carrying the first batch of crew on shore leave were launched from the hangar bays of the ships and descended towards the planet.

Federation Outer Defense Shell Braxon, Brax System
After an anomaly had been discovered in orbit over Braxon, extensive research had been done on the area. A similar anomaly had been discovered in orbit over Jupiter, in the Sol system. Continued research discovered that these anomalies were linked, and that they could possibly be some sort of intergalactic travel method faster than was already possessed by the Federation. More studies on the anomaly indicated that a tachyon pulse generated by a machine could open this portal. Teams created a gate that could easily open the portal and placed it over the anomaly in orbit of Braxon. However, a gate on the other side of the anomaly would be needed in order for any ship in this tear to be able to get out.
