Tears
I stare at the darkness before me
only to see myself reflected back
I no longer know who I am, the light
fading from view, will you be there
to show me the way? Dark thoughts invade
my head, pain that's not my own fills
me. Where tears of joy once fell
are now those of blood and despair.
The knowledge of a terrible choice
consumes me. What's right and what's
wrong? Is the world really black and
white? So simple yet so complex? Will
I choose life or will I choose death?
Will I be the one to murder or the
one to bring salvation? The demons
within hunger for blood, for sin. Even the
night is no comfort, offering my own
words back to confuse and complicate.
Will you stand by my side while I
stain my hands red with souls of
the innocent? Will you embrace me while
I give my life for those who deserve
death? Will you watch while I make
my choice? Will you tell me who you
are? Will you tell me who I am?
