Everyone is depended on foreign investors because think of it this way: if your family has too much uhh... rice, why with you sell it to your brother? You wouldn''t. You''d sell it to someone who doesn''t have much rice, like your cousin''s family. In turn, maybe they have lots of meat so they''ll sell it to you.

I agree, the Philippine economy isn''t really going so well. We have too much imported stuff and too little products to import. Face it, the only thing the kids will buy nowadays are Enyce sweaters and Vans shoes. Nobody''s gonna buy from Rusty Lopez or Bunny.

We DO have resources. It''s all packaged for export until they become either obsolete, or until they diminish fully. We''d have to repeat what one of the presidents did-- we''d have to be proud of our own products and stop being slaves to American consumerism.

(pasensya na english sagot ko, I can''t stand explaining in tagalog)

Make sense since this is the times of capitalism. Like what Marxists would say, "In order to prosper in capitalism, one must rob another one of their goods."

Our economy is not well because demand for most of Philippine products are low (which might cause an increase in prices...i think.).

As for the president that said "we''d have to be proud of our own products and stop being slaves to American consumerism.", would that happen to be President Magsaysay?
