Well, you were right dan and sephy, last month's MC's were apparently a real bomb sweatdrop Lanzer I'm really gald this month's collectables are well received by everyone. We were really troubled by last month's release of collectables as the sale of the items weren't even able to cover our equipment and operating costs. sweatdrop The idea of having three items this month was to raise the chance of having at least one great item for the holiday. At the same time, the idea allowed us to be more creative with our choices. For example, if we think of one item for guys, we'll then force ourselves to think of something for girls when we can only release two items. I'm really surprised the UFO didn't do so well, especially with the fly-in-towns aspect of it. I wasn't able to utilize it since I can't really access towns well on my connection, but most people have broadband nowadays.
And I'll admit they seemed kind of cheap/rushed/uninspired... but I don't know if it was really that or just bad ideas. I guess they can't all be winners confused

I think the temporary UFO flying feature is only a last try to make the last month's collectible items more attractive.
I'm glad there hasn't been a game (only) item...I'm really not that addicted to the games on Gaia. sweatdrop
Well, I can imagine the admins always think the next month collectible items will be awesome. I doubt that they would ever give us monthly collectibles they don't like by themselves. And that's the problem...a group of, i don't know, let's say 50 people for now, has to create and think of items which are well liked by the majority of 5 million users. Quite a difficult task...I wonder how they feel like when they release these items for every month. They never know how they're received by the community and they must feel really bad, when they're disliked (especially those who brang up the ideas and those who created them)...Being a Gaia staff member isn't really the most beautiful job on the world. whee
