About a year ago I posted in this guild and was totally reamed. Swore I'd never come back. I came back. My art has improved significantly. Now? I want you to be as harsh now as you were then. Only try and keep the 'GTFO n00b' crap down? D: The picture be here. (By the way, does this still count as anime style? D: )

Wow, that is a confusing drawing to be sure. (and painful methinks..)
Humm..I don't like the foldy skin, I don't think skin folds quite like that, at least I hope not.
Thigh is decidedly odd, as is the fold at the back of the knee and the buttock (I think the bum crease would go straight across or even the other way, especially with such a large rear).
My main problem would be that such a difficult physical position should surely show itself in the straining of muscles in the arms and legs esp. when the figure is skinny like this one. (I think I need to see that quad on the right leg popping up)
Ok, I'm done ripping. wink No, not really. These are just points I'm throwing out, so, make what you will. 3nodding

was this referenced at all?
Poses like this are tricky when you dont have a handle on anatomy yet, so the best thing to do would to use a reference.
Some of us have friends that are contortionists, for the rest of us, there's the internet.
If you've heard of Satou Gaki (who on this site hasnt sweatdrop ) she likes practice drawing fighting/gymnastic poses that are somewhat along these lines. I know she uses references from contortionist websites and is an avid buyer of art books at whatnot.
Meanwhile, the more you sketch from life and figure out how the human body is actually put together, the more you can fill in the blanks when references arent handy.

I do, more-often than not, refrence my work, actually. But when you're sketching and fartassing about on the buss, it's kid of hard to do that. People look at you weird when you ask "OMG HEY! Is anyone on this bus and contortionist!? can you do a backbend for me plz! o3o" *snrk* So no, it wasn't refrenced in the least. Nor was my last picture. Again, I had no means of refrencing.
Actually, however, I don't know Satou Gaki. Jahi is the only other artist I know of who draws things like this. And she's the one who kick-started me into it all. o.o;
As for Fiddle's imput, I'll take that into account in my next sketch. Thank you! ^^

Thank you! ^^ yeah i understand. unfortunately, the anatomy in this rather off in a rather distracting way. If you couldn't use references the first time, use them the next time. other wise i still recommend some life drawing so you can get a better handle on anatomy in general.
