Gah, I need to pick out her outfit and distinguishing features soon.
On a side note, if someone else is able to get a Cirque character very similiar to Katarina made, the back-up concepts are:
-A male trapeze artist whose partner died during an act following a terrible fall. He blames himself for the fall and never wants to be on stage again. Still, he comes to Cirque because he knows nothing else in life. Though he intends to do simple rigging and such, eventually, he will get back on the stage, but will be terrified of working with others because he doesn't trust himself.
-A multiple personality-afflicted girl whose disease manifests itself physically due to the nature of her species. Basically, she is able to duplicate herself. She will portray herself as a pair of conjoined twins by stopping the duplication in the middle of it, but she will not tell people that she is not actually a conjoined twin until someone stumbles upon her secret.
It's always good form to have a back-up!

There are a lot of aerial concepts involving silks and trapeeze floating about, so I was pleasantly surprised to see you featuring the aerial hoop as the performance centerpiece. It's a very gorgeous type of act, and a good choice.
I do like your character, though it seems her personality could be fleshed out the tiniest bit more. Overall, though, I do like her, and picking such a disatrous time/place as WII Germany is excellent for character development. I love that choice alone.
However, I have one major issue with this that is sort of under my skin: the fact that two seperate people are playing the twins. If one of you were to win a flatsale and the other doesn't, it would be easy to make up a reason as to why one twin was late to join the Crique. That part isn't what is raising questions with me.
On the other hand, it raises quite a few questions if you look at the Secret Santa raffle. Some people have suggested counting you and your friend as one submission for the raffle, and if your "ticket" was picked randomly, you'd both get in: but the rest of us have one chance to get one character in no matter what, and you two would have the chance to get in together. That idea in itself seems quite unfair to the rest of us trying our hand, and it's sort of itching at my brain, if you know what I mean.
HOWEVER - I'm not dissing the concept at all, so please don't think that: I like this character a lot. You've got a legitimately solid idea going here...although I also quite like your backup idea for a girl with multiple personailities (though that just may be the morbid part of me, hehe sweatdrop ). Just keep working on the concept, I'm sure it can only get better. heart Best of luck to you as well!

Thanks for the suggestions, and I will definitely look more into her personality. To be honest, specifics on personality are something that I usually develop once I start playing the character so I didn't want to be so very specific that I felt like I didn't have enough flexibility to change my mind. Still, I will try to add more if it will provide a better sense of character, as you suggested!
As for the twin thing, I was never under the impression that Nim and I would both get our characters should one of us win the raffle. If the Powers that Be decided to do that, then it is entirely their decision, and I will only be grateful. I definitely see where you are coming from though, but due to the very slim chance that either Nim or I will even get selected as it is, I don't think it is something that needs to be worried about. ^^ Don't worry about cleaning up the milk before the glass is even dropped, you know?
Regardless, I support whatever decision Dahli/Caroline/Klytie/Crisscoula/Outrun make. Nim and I knew doing this twin thing was going to be complicated when we decided to do it, but the characters were just too persistant for us to let go of. So, we decided to take the chance because Annaliesa and Katarina were too intriguing to leave in the scraps.
So... no worries? It's not an issue until it's an issue... if that makes sense. ^^
(And I, too, like the multiple-personality girl, but I think that Katarina will be more fun to play. ^^ So she is my first choice!)
That said, I hope everyone has a happy holiday break. I, myself, will be in Maryland from the 14th to the 19th so I will chat with all of you good people upon my return.

But Nim has been working on some excellent concept art that I can't wait to showcase. ninja

My apologies for being gone for so long. My first year of college just needed a lot more of my attention than I had planned on in the Spring semester. So, I am kicking myself for not trying in the contest, but I'll survive.
And I won't give up just yet. =)

Nice concept. I think its neat! I hope you aren't too upset about my Twin Concept. Its not like yours as the girls are conjoined and work on the Side Show.

I don't own the idea of having a twin, so don't worry about it. heart My back-up concept was to have conjoined twins that aren't really conjoined twins--scroll up for a clearer explanation--but I can hardly argue that my back-up should prevent you from going after your first choice. So again, no worries and best of luck.
Also, I'm still alive, folks!
