"Or both," Rae shrugged slightly. "But then again, in this community, both conditions show up often enough for it to be a threat, I guess."
Time to show the cards, Lucius supposed. "Remus is the only one working with us at the moment. The rest of the family hasn't really begged any sort of invitation as of yet. Remus is only working with us on the condition that his family be given some sort of protection from the Alliance, and at the moment he's an incredibly valuable ally, given some of his... friendships," Lucius shrugged slightly.

Fenrir couldn't help but grin at Rae's words. "I suppose I'd better behave myself then, hm?"
"I can understand that," Rudolphus said. "I'm assuming that the rest of his family doesn't even know about the Alliance then? I don't even want to imagine what their reactions would be.. The whole lot of them are insane if you ask me. And drama queens." He looked down at Barty and grinned, ruffling his hair. "You're a drama queen too, don't worry."
Barty glared up at him.

Laughing quietly, Rae smiled. "Probably. I should also warn you-- those charms don't work on those under the Alliance's protection or those who're part of an Alliance. That includes a certain... clan of wolves."
"Of course they don't," Lucius smiled. "Remus is surprisingly easy to manipulate when it comes to his family, and surprisingly talented at keeping secrets from them. He barely speaks to them, it seems-- or they don't pay any attention to him when they're around him. Or both."

Fenrir's ears twitched slightly at the mention of the certain clan. He made a face, a bit annoyed. It seemed that subject was still a bit.. touchy with him. "I wouldn't do anything against the children anyway," he said. "Contrary to popular belief."
"Seems more to me like he avoids them," Rudolphus admitted. "But then again, you don't live in a place where you have to hear an insecure wolf whimpering about how much he misses him and the kids at the Nest. I envy you for that, Lucius."

"I wasn't thinking of the children-- more of one of the parents," Rae smiled slightly. "It's tempting to bind someone to you, but it can backfire if you try it on someone shielded."
"Indeed, I appear to have the better end of the bargain-- I have the quiet parent, and the children who stay out of my way," Lucius laughed quietly. "But at any rate, we'd best prepare to depart. I think Seishirou's having some trouble juggling his illusions."

Fenrir glanced at Rae from the corner of his eyes, watching him for a moment. Then he sighed slightly. "I've come to accept the fact that Remus doesn't want me." A light smirk came to his lips. "Perhaps I'm just too much man for him." That was it.. His way to deal with the rejection..
Rudolphus nodded. He was about to let Barty up and get to his feet as well, when he paused, looking alittle worried for a brief second. He looked at Lucius. "That Maura... He's a good kid..." he said, a slight hope in his voice. Hope that the Dark Lord wouldn't order them to hurt him. He liked Maura Des.. He was a fun kid to rough house with.

Simply shrugging, Rae considered Fenrir for a brief moment longer before artfully changing the subject. "There's a few people you should meet, though most of them are busy right now. I wouldn't worry too much about it-- just keep in mind that they might drop by your place if you don't run into them first."
"...most of the children are interesting creatures. However, they do carry the traitor's blood in them, so let's not get too attached, shall we?" Lucius smiled. "After all, it wouldn't do to falter if our Lord commands us to destroy them, would it?" As much as Lucius considered a great many individuals assets-- or at most, thought of them with a mild degree of fondness-- the lamia wouldn't hesitate to strike any of them down, were he commanded to do so.

Fenrir looked at him again. "Is there any way that they'll be identifying themselves to me? I don't exactly appreciate people randomly popping by. And neither does the b***h that runs the Castle."
Rudolphus frowned. "Yeah.. I just.. I guess I was hoping there might be some way we can.. y'know.. get them on our side?" But if they were ordered to kill Maura.. He wasn't going to let anyone else do it except for him. That way he knew the kid wouldn't suffer...

"Don't worry, they'll send someone to let you know beforehand," Rae smiled. "Someone who people won't question being in the Castle. Lucius' careful about those things. We don't need more trouble than there already is."
"That's for our Lord to decide," Lucius shrugged elegantly. "Until then, we withhold judgment and leave them to their own choices. That will give our Lord better dominion over what to do about them. Their true colors will reveal themselves."

Fenrir's face remained neutral, though inside he huffed. They'd probably send Remus. He was the only one he could think of that wouldn't be questioned for coming to the Castle. "Alright," he said. "Sounds like a plan, then."
Rudolphus frowned. He knew Lucius was right.. But he had a bit of a stubborn part to him, the wolf did. They would be able to get Maura on their side.. He hoped... Best not to dwell on it. The last thing he needed was to be stressing out.
