I went into the Believers thread and found out that 09 had a good relationship with them. So, Yuzi_k was in the manga because she was a believer, not because she's a mod.

L Y Z Z A C I O U S` DB [Q] Oi. When I first flipped throught he update I was incredibly pissed. First the featured a dev's journal, and then this. I wanted to kill someone. Yuzi's a mod. And I just thought, the storyline focused on one gaian, especially since she's a mod, was just screaming utilitarian government. At least in the new year's update, the users had no direct involvement in the plot. This changed that. While it's great there was user involvement and everything, I really REALLY think it is important that names had been LEFT OUT. The avatar art may be okay, but for GiB, generic uniform guy is fine, and that last bit of art for [09 saying] 'my friends' is fine. I just find it really... I don't know. I am seething with anger because there are people who just cannot spend that much time in the story even if they really want to, or there are those who try really hard to be involved in the storyline but aren't 'honored' in the comic. But when I read the update closer, I don't know. The way the announcements were going (Believers, GiB, 'a forbidden love') and them mentioning all the user involvement, I kind of saw it ending up like this, but I didn't think it would end up as some blatantly huge piece of propaganda. I just think names should not be mentioned. If you know you're in the update, that's cool and you know you're cool. But for those who tried to be in the update, or who weren't in the update, they don't need to have YOUR NAME blatantly staring them in the face every time they read that update. It's like. It kind of had to be this way with how the story was going, but at the same time, it shouldn't have gone this far. It sickens me, that the admins would do this. I mean, I know the mods need some type of compensation, but not like this. I'm pissed at how shitty the storyline has gotten, how low the admins have gone(albeit in trying to please us) and of course I'm upset that I can't update the gcw because I'm at school right now. But at the same time, A part of me wants to just blatantly REFUSE to host that update on the GCW because the way they(devs/admins) did this is just ******** UP. Nothing can explain how pissed I am right now. You totally have a good point, there, and I think you should pm the admins with that- I would if you did it. I mean, the sniper game, before it got kicked out of the GCD, got way more attention than her little 'omg me + 09' thread, and we've gotten no recognition from the admins. Oh, sure, we got put into memorable threads, but...nobody really goes there to read old threads that often. But oooh, no, we don't PARTICIPATE with the NPCs like she did with 09. The only reason she was able to was because one of the admins/devs/whatever showed favor to her and not some normal Gaian. And I'm positive that anybody who's played the sniper game could tell anybody who hasn't that, if we had the chance, we would seriously interact with the real sniper. Why don't WE get any attention? Oh, yeah, right, because we're not special like her and her 'love' thing. Not to mention Fleep's journal getting the spotlight. OMG. HE'S A DEV. HE TALKS. BIG FLYING ********. Give the spotlight to somebody who isn't KNOWN by half the population of Gaia. It just pisses me off that they're FAVORING users now. It's the whole 'in' crowd mindset that they're forcing into the storyline. I'd rather have dull and drab than them focusing on specific users. THANK YOU. That's one of the things that pisses me off the most. We were arguably one of the first threads to interact with an NPC that the devs didn't want interacted with. Meaning, the Sniper NPC never ever went to any forums or talked to anyone. NPCs are only interacted with when the NPCs make the first move. For once, a person made the first move. Zae. Not only this, but Zae helped make a scrapbook for the admins. She sent a physical book to the admins, filled with pages people made to THANK THE ADMINS. If anyone were to deserve a full page NAMED dedication, it'd be her. But what does she get instead? Her scrapbook thread wasn't moved to memorables, and her avatar showed up as featured for a few months(although that's probably just my browser's cookie malfunction). So in essense, absolute jack s**t. Not only this, but the update that happened either right before the sniper game ended, or right after(I forget which) had a PERFECT opening to REFERENCE the sniper thread. When Cindy Donivich had her brief showing in the plotline.. here and here, they could have EASILY tacked on "suspicious" or "Or is it?" to the end of one of her lines. That would have been recognition enough. But do they do that? No. Instead, they decide to wait until the aliens come, and the admins take extra effort to MAKE gaians get involved do they care. What happened to the gaians that actually put effort into getting involved witht he characters BEFORE it was 'cool' to do so, and they had a 'guaranteed' chance at getting in the comic?

YESYESYES! And the thing is, is when V0 or whoever it was was all 'wah our event made us admins sad' because people were greedy- the same thing is happening. People are FIGHTING and getting JEALOUS because they're OBVIOUSLY favoring certain prommies in the GCD! What about the REAL GCDers? If half of the GD-ers who came and started making the GCD more GD like (yes, I have the right to say this, because a LOT of the 'prommie' GCDers right now WERE GDers back in the day), I'm sure the majority of the SGers and the SG itself would still be going there and posting a whole tone. So the GCDers who actually TRY to make a difference and bring the community together are shunned and forgotten. Zae's only featured because she won inthe AvA. I think that an uproar should be made! (ps I dunno about you, but I think that we're totally on the same wavelength. xDDD cause like everything you've said are things I've thought. xDDD heart )

Yuzi made a thread in the GCD criticizing pretty much our view.
Honestly, the first thing I thought of was "The people who talked and interacted with the elftechs spent more time on it than you with Flarn, and they were mentioned in a journal namelessly that no one would see.
Sirail(I think it was sirail) had a love affair with one of the labtacks in '04. That NPC actually interacted back rather well. Nobody knows about it because she's not a popularity whore, and v0 didn't honor her in the manga, either."
I'm not saying that Yuzi is a popularity whore, but...

If this was a storyline back in 03 or 04 when Gaia was a much smaller community it might not be so bad, but now Gaia is huge and adding users to the storyline like this is a little too much. Having some people in the background like in the New Years update wasn't horrible because they were just people in the background and had no impact on the story.
Never was really a fan of the whole ailen thing, but I don't think they should have involved users this much in a storyline manga knowing how people reacted to things like this in the past. ^^;;
