Lexiel walked sorely down a slightly familiar street, with hanging head and blurred vision from hot salty tears, late one cold November evening. She had been down this same path twice before; Once in a cop car and once in a company car. With her she had a small bag of clothing and her worn down rabbit doll that she has had since she could remember, clutched to her chest.
She had made a final decision and left the orphanage that night after hearing cruel words being spoken in the next room over, by her so called "guardians", and decided that if she didn't leave that night something horrible would have happened, whether it be them forcing her out of the orphanage into another foster home that wouldn't truly care for her or offing her themselves. She had only one place in mind where she could go, and for most it wasn't top of the list choice, but it was all she knew other then the orphanage.
Turning off the small one lane road, down a somewhat long driveway, past two wide open and rusting cast iron gates she walked on the gravel filled path leading up to the ominous looking building. Through her tears, looking up at the institution she thought for a minute that it had huge glowing eyes and a menacing grin upon its structure, but after blinking a few times she recognized it to be two lighted windows perfectly spaced and the porch of the memorable front of Happy Home.
'Happy Home,' She thought to herself as she walked on. 'Well, happy or not, I really do hope that this will be somewhat of a home, or at least a shelter where I can get away from all the crazies.' She thought ironically enough. Her legs and feet were sore from all the walking and she was happy when she heard the light sound of creaking of wood from the stairs leading up to the main entrance underneath her foot.
She was only a few feet away from the main door when she got second thoughts about walking right in, fearing that they would send her right back to the place where she desperately needed to escape. She shifted her things and was about to leave to go around back to see if anyone was about in the garden when the front door slowly crept open behind her.
The sound of the door creaking was quite loud and turning around, slightly startled, she saw no one in the dimly lit hallway that was now visible through the door. Curiously she stepped towards it, her things in hand, wondering who or what had opened the door.

Tick. Click. Tock. Woosh. Tick. Click. Tock. Woosh. At the end of the entrance hall, a strange phenomenon was engaged in an even stranger occupation. He, the nearly invisible purple-skinned youth, was playing with an ornate lighter, staring grimly as the flame appeared - dissapeared - appeared out of its gold-adorned top. The clock on the back wall was the only other sound to break the heavy silence. It must have been late, as the nurses had not bothered to properly light the room. Valycinte groaned and gawked at the ceiling, the only way he knew to express his immense boredom.
He was wondering slightly if waking up all the crazies would provide enough entertainment. "Nah, probably not," he spoke to no one in particular, "the Casino might be open, still.." Having decided on haunting the roulette, he jumped to his feet, stretched and went for the door. The metal straps of his shoes created a ghostly sound, as it went from the wooden floor to begin echoing against the cold walls. Passing through the door, his orange hair and golden eyes already on the other side, he nearly bumped into (through?) the short girl standing in front of the Happy Home. Quickly sinking back into the door, he couldn't suppress the grin forming on his face. But then again, he didn't really want to. His entertainment had arrived just on time.
Valycinte knew every trick in the book when it came to acting like a classic movie ghost. Fading completely into the background, leaving naught but his golden eyes and his grin remaining, he opened the door (which creaked awfully, to his great pleasure) and quickly ran off to a dark corner, waiting to see if his victim would enter.

Lexiel peered through the opened doorway, looking down the slightly familiar aged hallway, but saw no one. Her heart was still racing from when the door had startled her, but she thought to herself that there must be some sort of explanation for it opening by itself. So without further hesitation she stood directly in front of the opened door way and stepped around it to stand inside.
The warmth was quite comforting, but she was still on edge, keeping her eyes moving in every direction.
"Hello? Is anyone here?" She called out into the almost deafening silence. The only thing she could hear was the faint sound of a clock ticking further down the hallway and her own heart beat that seemed to get louder and louder by the second.
She placed her satchel like bag down on the floor and began walking down the hallway, looking into any room that had its doors wide open. Everything had an eerie feeling to it and she wasn't liking it.
She squinted her eyes, just to check if in fact there was anything around her that she couldn't see, but she saw nothing in front of her. Though it might have done her some good to turn around and look behind her in the same manner to see that something actually was following her, even if whatever it was had no intentions of hurting her.

(( First time RPing with one of the NPC's! Yay 4laugh )) Yawning loudly as she passed yet another dark hallway, nurse Elly seemed glad her shift was drawing to a close. She'd started it early this afternoon and her day had been awful since lunch, ten-ish hours ago. The patients, refusing to turn the TV down, had left her with an amazing headache that would last her well into the early hours of the morning. "I don't get paid nearly enough to be dealing with these nutjobs." She sighed in self-pity as she violently switched off the lights of the entrance hall. No one was going to arrive this late, after all. "And if they do, well, that's too damn bad." Elly murmured, the black lines underneath her eyes giving her face a skeletal impression in the semi-darkness. She ran a hand along her throbbing forehead and another yawn escaped her, just as the clock hit midnight.
Shivering slightly because of the Home's weird heating (in certain areas, especially dark hallways, it often didn't seem to work at all) she stalked off to the warmer, staff-only area in the front of the building. Her longing for some sleep caused her to assume the loud creaking coming from the entrance hall was Viscount's doing. "What a lunatic that one is.. QUIET!" Her yell echoed through the hallway, causing some patients to stir in their rooms. They knew better than to make more noise, though, the nurse was best left un-angered. Stopping for a moment to listen for more sounds, Elly heard nothing and dissapeared around a corner satisfied with the silence and ready for bed.
Now with a grin stretching from one end of his face to the other, Val was most definitely feeling like he was in his element. As the girl started venturing into the hallway, his golden eyes followed, hovering at a distance behind her. There were so many things that he could do to his guest that Valycinte became unsure where to start. Just as the clock rang midnight all the lights went off, and he saw this as perfect timing.
"Let the games begin.." he whispered to himself, getting close enough to her to be able to pull the ribbon on her back. Softly blowing into her neck while he did exactly this, he felt tonight would be a less-than-boring night after all.

Lexiel stood almost frozen in place as the clock had struck the hour, beginning to chime out the 12 slow gongs to tell everyone, awake or asleep, that it was Midnight. Dramatically the already dim lights went out totally at the last stroke, almost as if by taking that last step, she had entered another dimension.
Her breath hitched, heart already beating at an alarming rate, when she felt the light breath on her neck and the tug at her apron tie. The small hairs on the back of her neck stood and her knees almost capsized at the feeling, making her wobble slightly. She wanted to scream, but her body felt paralyzed, and her vocal cords weren't working properly. Nothing would come out but a small soft sound.
She flashed around but saw nothing, even after squinting, whatever it was, if there was in fact something there, it wasn't there anymore. She heard something behind her and she flashed around again, only to see the almost complete darkness that was there before.
Her mind was reeling with thoughts and ideas of what it could be that was doing this to her. Could it be just the paranoia of being in a new place in complete darkness? Was it a trick of the mind, or was someone actually there? She heard small whispers, and looking around frantically, she wished to hide from them all.
She collapsed to her knees in the middle of the hallway and leaned over, cupping her hands to her ears and began to rock back and fourth to try and make the things that scared her go away. "It's not real, it's not real, it's not real." She chanted in almost a whisper to herself as she rocked, tears coming to her eyes.

Blinking at the unexpected intensity of the girl's reaction, Val wore an expression somewhere inbetween surprise and deep, deep satisfaction. He kneeled behind her, running his hands along hers, sure that the chill would drive the girl to more tears. Through the purple fingers playing lightly along her arms he could feel her shuddering, but it left him without a trace of pity. On the contrary, the young man was getting quite exited by the girl's chanting.
"You're right, you're right," he softly whispered into her ear, his lips nearly grazing the supple skin. "This isn't real..," his voice trailed off for a minute as he shifted into a more comfortable position, moving his hands to her head. Valycinte was intending to play with the girl's hair, something he loved to do. The twirling of flowing locks between his fingers momentairily diverted his attention and kept him from finishing the sentence. "But then, if this isn't real.. then why can you see me?" He chuckled, his cold voice echoing along the hall. "Am I.." he took one hand from her hair and moved his arm over her shoulder, placing it dangerously close to her neck. "Just a figment.." Crossing his other arm over the one already on the girl's chest, pulling her closer to him. "Of your imagination?"

Lexiel, almost rigid with shaking, let her tears fall faster, small whimpers coming from her small chest as his hands drifted over her shoulders to rest upon her. Every place where he touched her seemed to tense in response. She felt as if she would be ill from the shock for it ran through her veins in an excited pace. She wanted to just fling her arms back in a brutal attack and make him let her go, but her fear of what he might do in retaliation scared her into submission.
Her whole body ached with stress and her mind was beginning to distort her vision, making everything around her spin, and the beginnings of a fainting spell began to form at the base of her neck, slowly raising to completely envelop her whole head in darkness.
She was truly about to faint when she noticed something bright appear from down the hallway a bit. Carefully she looked out, through her teary gaze, at what seemed to be a heart on the end of a thick stream of something of liquid consistency, curl around the corner. It seemed to be looking at her, as she, did it.
The back of her mind was screaming, more focused on the man like thing behind her then the thing that existed in front of her. She dared not lift her head to view whatever it was in front of her, for fear of the thing behind her noticing her glance; But she looked as best she could with her head facing at an angle towards the ground, eyes forward, to see what it was, hoping that somehow, whatever it was, it would help her get out of her current predicament.
Unfortunately the thing peeked away from its look out and it never came back. It seemed to have disappeared completely, as if it wasn't even there. She then wondered in a split second, whether it was a hallucination brought on by stress, but that thought was quickly interrupted as she felt her body rise further from her self cradling position.
She sobbed softly as the creature's hands pulled her further upright, and(she doesn't exactly know what he is yet XD) her body began shaking all over, as a bitter metallic taste filled her mouth. All her medicine that she has ever taken since the beginning seemed to coat the inside of her mouth all at once. She felt truly sick now, but before her insides could do anything about it she heard something.
The soft sound rose from behind them both and it was getting alarmingly louder, almost like a quiet whistle raising to a pitch as high as that of a train gearing to leave a station. The whole hallway filled with steam in an instant. Oddly enough it smelt strangely of the same substance that had coated her mouth earlier. (Its just an illusion though X3)
She managed to turn her head, The grip having left her shoulders long enough for her to crawl away hurriedly to safety. Again she held her hands to her ears to protect herself from the loud sound, as she now sat, back up against one of the hallway's walls. And then she saw it.
... A Gigantic tea pot that glowed bright red in fury, glowing within the steam that it had created. The white gaseous mixture still poured from its spout in a rage, Everything around them had a red foggy hue to it. The pot took up the whole front lobby of Happy Home with its girth and the hallway was filled with its hot steam.
Something burning, a hot orange like yellow liquid, began pouring from the spout, forming the image of a dagger. The heat that she could feel radiating from this liquid over powered the heat from the steam. The dagger, glowing hot, came threateningly close to the man's face who had been torturing her for what seemed an eternity.

So enthralled by what he was doing to the shaking bundle, Val didn't notice the quick glances, the surprised look, the disturbance that caused her to stop her sobbing. After he pulled the girl upright his hands moved from her shoulders to her waist, preparing to go lower to see how much resistance she would give him if he dared to venture there.
His ears registered something else than the expected "No, please dont" and he tilted his head in annoyance, slightly loosening the clenched fingers that had dug so deep into her soft skin. A whistling that rang suddenly through the hallway was getting louder, and louder, and louder. Finally unable to take it, Val released his treasure and flung his hands up to his ears, feeling unsteady on his feet and letting out a "what the ********?!" that couldn't be heard over the noise. He turned his head to the girl, wondering if she was conjuring up the thick clouds of warm fog that were advancing on the shocked appearance. His eyes grew large as a gigantic tea pot became visible, glowing red within the smoke. Val, measuring up to be about the size of its spout, was having trouble with what he was seeing.
The though of running crossed his mind, but was soon pushed away by other thoughts that reminded him of the fact that he was looking at a tea pot. Quickly regaining his composure he starting approaching the girl again, having decided he would ignore the giant. Before he could wrap his hands around her thin arms, a scorching dagger - made of liquid, apparently - stopped Valycinte in his tracks as it came to an inch from his face. He stared at the weapon, burning away small whisps of his hair that had touched it. A drop of sweat pearled down the side of his face, running across his clenched jaw. He blinked and backed away slowly. Val opened his mouth but no words managed to find their way past his dry lips. Shocked orange eyes shifted from the dagger to the girl behind it. "C-Call," he croaked, "call it off! Girl, call it off!"

Lexiel starred up at what was happening before her in disbelief, but as much as she didn't believe it, it was happening. She was startled when the dagger had appeared, threatening the man who had once been so uncomfortably close to her.
The heat radiating from the dagger could be felt from where she sat and she covered her face with her hand to shield herself from the oncoming heat. The whistling had stopped and all that was left was the sound of a low bubbling boil from the spout of the gigantic tea pot.
When the man had called to her to call it off she looked frantically back between the man that was being threatened and the pot who was sending its liquid immeasurably close to harming the man.
"I don't know how! I don't even know where it came from!" She called out, somewhat frightened. Eye brows furrowed she tried to think how to stop it, searching the depths of her mind for commands for stopping something.
But other thoughts of the fact that he deserved whatever this pot was going to give to him clouded her kept her from finding one immediately, the dagger getting close enough to begin to burn a small mark on the chin of the purple skinned man.
The dagger had stopped in its tracks the liquid slowly turning from a hot burning red to a light orange and then to a simmering yellow. It was cooling.
Lexiel looked up at the dagger and then towards the pot, wondering if just thinking about the pot not burning had persuaded it to stop. She stood wobbly and with unsteady steps she approached the tea pot, gathering up her rabbit plushie on the way over.
The dagger retracted into the spout and soft whistling sounds emitted from it as she reached out to touch the large see through colorful side. Her hand went though but she could feel warmth all around her hand as it hovered within whatever it was. She removed her hand and smiled, knowing somehow that it was not there to hurt her.
Lexiel, standing with her back close to the tea pot that was obviously on her side, turned to face the man who was now not being threatened by a hot glowing dagger.
"Who are you?" She asked, holding onto her rabbit plushie tightly, her piercing blue eyes intently focused on whatever he was.
Before she could get an answer though, a new sound was heard in the silence. She turned her head towards one of the hallway entrances when she heard soft padding footsteps coming from around the corner. The pot behind her slowly shrunk in size to where it was a little bit bigger then a normal pot and it hovered behind her at about the hight of her knee.
((You get to pick who was awoken by the all the commotion X3.))

Backed against a wall which in his shocked state appeared reasonably solid, Valycinte found himself much closer to the burning dagger than he had even wanted to be to the girl. Nearly pushing his nails into the bricks behind him, the uncomfortable heat which radiated from the liquid dagger turned into scorching pain as the weapon slowly began burning through the skin of his chin. Pride struggled with self-preservation as the scared apparation tried to decide whether he should start appealing to the tea pot now or simply undergo his lot with dignity. The muscles of his face contracted in horror, his eyes fixed upon the source of his pain as he slowly opened his mouth. "Pl-.." was all that he had to say before the shimmering light which had coloured his face red was turning to a cooler yellow.
Sinking to the floor as soon as he had been freed from the dagger, Val took a few wheezing breaths, his fear having clenched the redhead's throat so tightly air was barely getting through. He could see the girl had moved towards the tea pot, now stroking it slightly. Her face contorted into a smile which instantly annoyed Val. Mental note: Get that snooty brat when her tea pet isn't around. Before he was able to get up and reply to her question, the sounds of someone walking towards him could be heard echoing around the corner. His head tilted anxiously towards the shadows from which it had originated. Another tea pot? .. With.. legs?
A bit disturbed but definitely not a tea pot was a young female, currently taking large strides as she got closer to the source of the noise which had awoken her abruptly from her dreamless slumber. Her headache was back, as if she had never taken those three tablets of ibuprofen, and her bad mood was considerably worsened. She had passed the room of who she had assumed to be the source of the unpleasant whistling and had found him sound asleep, albeit murmuring a bit more than usual. "It must be one of those new patients.. The Victorian one wouldn't do this, though.." she mused to herself, now advancing on one of the hallways that lead to the entrance hall.
A small figure was visible in the distance, one arm raised making sweeping motions at the air while the other held on to a small animal. No, she was getting closer.. It was plush rabbit. Squinting her eyes Elly thought that such a child couldn't have possibly made all that noise. Walking deeper into the shadows that took up half of the hallway, a question reached her ears. "Who are you?" The nurse froze, her face (although invisible in the darkness) showed a look of confusion. The girl whom had asked her this was not facing Elly, but staring intently at a spot on the wall. This obviously wasn't a visiting relative.
"My name is Nurse Morgain. Are you a new patient?"

Lexiel was both reluctant and grateful to hear the voice at the end of the hall be a woman’s voice. Reluctant only for the fact that it had cut the creature off from answering her question, but grateful to know that she was no longer alone with him. With her tea pot hidden behind her knees she spoke out softly to answer the woman who seemed sane enough.
"No, Ms. Morgain. Well, I'm not new per say, but..." her vocabulary seemed to fly out of her mind at once for she lost the ability of matching a word to it definition and using it correctly to finish her thought. She looked back to the wall where the orange haired man still stood, almost glaring menacingly at her. She cringed, remembering how close he in fact he was to her just a while before. Her skin crawled and she closed her eyes bidding it to stop, but when she opened her eyes again he was out of sight. She didn't trust for a second though that he was totally gone, so she kept her wits about her as she continued to try and talk to the nurse.
“I am a patient here. But just not a resident one; well,” she said pausing, a sort of sadness in her voice, “Not till now, at least.” She looked up at the nurse and the fear returned of the chance of rejection and her being either forced back onto the street or worse, back to the orphanage. “Is there room enough for me to stay here?” Her eyes pleaded as she clung to her rabbit doll, totally forgetting about the pot that still hovered near the back of her knees, almost hiding underneath the folds of her skirt. She waited in vain for some sort of response that would give her the hint of whether or not she was welcome.
