to be fair, though, he's been working exclusively with ballpoint for like 36 years. he's flippin amazing; ballpoint itself amazes me. in that picture you showed me...i wonder what kind of pen he/she was using....

hey, whats the easiest way to render metal? because i've decided to lay off the glass for a while and try a spoon, but i keep having the urge to stab myself in the face because its hard....its turning out well, but its taking...so long! i'm using pencil, and i have a model spoon.
is there some sort of trick to it? did i not get the memo?

but seriously, metal is hard to render.

Completely random colour tip:
Work cool tones into your shadows and warm tones into your highlights, or vice versa, depending on lighting. Especially with skin tones. :3
