NOT a Lost Child?!
Believe it!
If not a Lost Child (and all things being equal), this would be roughly what Sofi would look like. A little more subdued, a little more elaborate clothing.
WHY? D:
Well, for one, Grandpappy Boyan would dress her this way.
xd Her taste would run more into headscarves when she grows older.
So what are the differences between Lost Child Sofi and Porcelain (second gen) Sofi?
Besides general appearance? :B
ClothingLost Child Sofi would dress modestly in present-day clothing. Tee shirts, long denim skirts, and sneakers.
Porcelain Sofi would also dress modestly (and have the same taste in hawaiian headscarves), but her dress would be a bit more elaborate and refined. Not that she'll play any less hard in it.
World PerceptionLost Child Sofi would be overwhelmed by the world without a familiar face to guide her. Everything would appear strange to her, and maybe a little hostile. She would be unused to people treating her like an equal or like she belonged, so it would take her quite some time to get used to!
Porcelain Sofi wouldn't have those difficulties. She'd grow up in a full household with a grandpa and an auntie and three Jumi cousins and a mommy and daddy fa'e she can see whenever she wants. She'd face the world with open eyes and a confidence that Lost Child Sofi would have to learn.
Attitudes toward MagicLost Child Sofi would grow up on a world where technology is advanced and magic is something scoffed at. Who needs magic when technology can do it for you? Magic (including her own) would be strange, and it would be a source of confusion for her.
Porcelain Sofi would grow up on Gaia, in the presence of magical beings and other Fa'e. Magic to her would be as normal as breathing. She'll be a little more confused by elaborate technology (and more likely to break it!)
Internal versus External focus?Lost Child Sofi will seem QUITE childish when compared to other girls her age, due to her being coddled her entire life by Neilani society. Her attention would be more focused on the self. Not to say she'd act like a BRAT, of course. Rather, she would be more concerned with how the world affects HER, and how her magic affects HERSELF.
Porcelain Sofi, while still not completely acting her age, would be more dreamy and imaginative than simply childish. Her attention would be more focused on the world around her. She'd be more concerned with the effects she and her magic will have on the world around her.
Ancient versus Human path?Lost Child Sofi would be MORE LIKELY to chose the Human path, depending on how she develops on Gaia. If she can't move past the self, then she will remain on the human path. If she CAN learn to move past the self, then she has a shot at Ancient status.
Porcelain Sofi would be MORE LIKELY to choose the Ancient path. Her focus on the world around her rather than herself would be ideal for developing her magic past cartoon logic for HERSELF, and helping OTHERS into the Chelm spirit.
Of course, neither of these are set in stone. Lost Child Sofi can learn to move past the self, and Porcelain Sofi may want to settle down and raise a family of her own.
