Jade and Gumi stared at each other deathly, until Daniel cleared his throat, to break the uneasy silence.
"Um, I'm gonna say something here", he said. "Now, I know that you, Gumi, obviously don't want Jade to be pregnant, but that doesn't change the fact that she is. And, because we can't go back and change it, though you may want to, we can't. Jade is going to have her baby, and that's it."
"No", Gumi said, testily. "That's not, it. Jade is not going to have this baby. She can't."
"And why not?", he asked. "What could possibly be so bad, other than the fact that it would be you a young aunt, that she shouldn't have our baby? Huh? What, is it gonna, I don't know.... kill you all because you're all some all-powerful beings, and if our baby is found out, if she/he is put up for adoption, she'll be traced back to you and you'll all be drawn, quartered and hanged?"
Gumi and Faith looked unbelievably shocked.
"Wait", he said, looking at Jade. "That isn't it, is it?"
Jade took his hand again and gently caressed that side of his face. "No, of course not. Even though I will give you points for that, very out there, wild theory."
"I know, I mean, can you just see them as all-powerful beings?", James said, then breaking out into a fit of laughter.

“Yes, indeed. Who, James?” Kagumi glared at the laughing boy with tears in her eyes. Turning back around, she faced her sister. “I swear, upon Pheonix law, that if you keep that child, you will be disowned, and possibly executed.”
“You’d do that to me?” Jade asked, eyes filling with tears.
“You’d do that to her?” Daniel asked, a furrow developing between his eyebrows.
“You still practice execution?” James and Sirius asked together. Remus shot her a look, and Faith stood beside her.
Love, what are you doing? Remus’ mental voice held none of the usually present dry humor, only a cold skepticism.
Saving our lives, Remus.
“Yes, Jadalycya. Here in front of the Clan Matriarch, I do so swear. What do you pledge? To keep the babe, and lose everything or to let the babe go, with a few experiments that might be able to keep it stasis until such a time as is no longer needed or until such a time that the child’s continued life will bring no harm to any.?”
“Jadalycya, the Matriarch awaits your decision, an so it will be bound by your life, our laws, and your magick.” Faith cleared her throat after speaking these words, looking significantly at the somewhat shell-shocked Pheonix mother. Naïlo looked between her daughters, and slowly nodded.
“I await your word. You will have twenty-four hours to decide, since the equivalent of martial law has been declared.” The woman slowly walked out the door, to ask Dumbledore for an overnight suite. Fury etched every part of Kagumi's face, and triumph shone forth from her eyes: she knew she had at last won.
“Martial law?” Sirius asked. “But there’s no war here.”
“Yes there is, Siri. It’s just beyond your level of comprehension,” Jade whispered, looking torn and crestfallen.

"Do you have, any, idea, at all, as of what you are asking, not just me, but Daniel as well, to give up?", Jade asked Gumi and Faith, getting up out of bed. "Do you? I don't think you do. I can tell by the looks on your faces. It-"
Jade's face went pale white, her eyes went glassy and in an instant, she had fallen, face first onto the hard stone floor.
Oct. 29, 2:00am, St. Mungo's, Outside Jade's Operation Room
Madame Pomphrey rushed Jade to St. Mungo's as quickly as she could, with the others in tow.
Five Healer's worked feverishly on her, until they had gotten her stabilized.
Finally, one of the Healer's came out.
"Daniel Cauldwell?", he asked.
"Yes?", he replied.
"We have stabilized her, though she is in a good bit of pain, she will live", the Healer said, but then hung his head. "I'm sorry, though, her baby, didn't make it. I'm truly sorry."
Lily gave a loud sob as she flung herself onto James, who just stood there, in utter shock.
"Can- can- can we see her?", Daniel asked.
"Of course", the Healer said. "Go right in. Again, I'm sorry."
"Thank you", he replied, opening the door.
Jade was sitting up in her bed, clutching her knees to her chest and was quietly sobbing. Only when Daniel gently touched her shoulder, did she look up. Without glance to anyone else, she looked straight at Gumi and Faith, and spoke in a voice that could've made the devil quiver in fear.
"I hope you're both satisfied now, my baby is dead. And it's all thanks to you. Get out."
