Born to a middle class family in a war torn feudal world, Aitrus showed a great aptitude for swordsmanship and had some innate magical ability in him at a very young age. Wanting to advance their social status through the honor gained by their only child, Aitrus? parents wanted to have him trained as much as possible so that he could become a hero in the battles and bring his family into the inner circles of the favored families of the local lord. Taking more to the sword than the magic in him, Aitrus started his training at the age of 4 by being sent to a retired warrior in the mountains for 5 years. After learning all he could from this man he was sent on to learn from other, younger and more contemporary masters of swordsmanship. By the time he was 16 he had cultivated his abilities in melee combat until the speed of his attacks could only be compared to lighting streaking through the night sky. Much to his dismay a new lord came to power over the others in a decisive battle around this time and there was no longer any glory to be found in fighting on the battlefields, making his 12 years spent in intensive training seem to have been a complete waste except for the fact that he had trained his body into peak physical conditioning. In the new order established in the world magic became much more in favor than combat abilities and Aitrus? parents took the first opportunity to send their son to the academies to learn the arcane arts. Aitrus didn?t take much to the normal spells that were taught every day at the academy, seeing them as meaningless ways to show off, though he did find telekinesis very useful in wielding extra blades without having extra arms. He also found that he could use his blades as mediums through which to channel the raw energies that his body generated and cause more harm to those he attacked. This was very much frowned upon and Aitrus was repeatedly reprimanded for focusing his studies in such a manner. Several years into his training at the academy one of the teachers told Aitrus that if he failed to learn the teleportation spells before the next round of exams and didn?t stop focusing so much on combat magics he would be expelled from the academy and never allowed to study the arcane again because there was no place in the new society for someone with the skills Aitrus seemed to be acquiring. Not wanting to disappoint his parents and bring the shame of being expelling from the academy to the family name, Aitrus tried fervently to learn the teleportation spells required of him to stay in the academy. Progress was very slow until he realized that the teleportation abilities could also be very useful in getting into and out of complicated position of a battle field. With this in mind it became a lot easier for Aitrus to focus on learning the normal teleportation spells. Everything seemed to be going well enough until Aitrus attempted his first gate spell and utterly failed in the attempt. When he woke up he looked around to find that he was no longer in the same world he grew up in.
