It's a girl! heart heart heart
Felicia Yvaine was born at 10:50pm on November 24th.
She weighed 6lbs2oz and was 19.5".
I was only in labor for a bit over 9 hours, a vast improvement over the previous 27-ish hours for my son. We were all surprised - after a small round of phone calls to tell people I was having some contractions, but not to expect anything for a while, we went out to dinner, then had to cut it short and get me to the midwife center, where I was promptly admitted. We didn't even have time to call everybody in advance - half our call list was only called once to say she'd already been born. The senior midwife stopped off to loot some ice packs from the maternity ward and ended up arriving for the placenta (my son's pronouncement: "That's YUCK!"). whee My in-laws hadn't even left the house yet, and they were on the short list of people who *did* know I'd been admitted. Heck, I have a dim memory of hearing the on-duty midwife telling me she was about to break my water and to get ready to push, and me pausing between contractions to shoot her a confused look and say, "Really?!"
We are all home, and Lucien has declared that he likes his sister. He even reminded us to take her home with us from the birthing center! He also took it upon himself to introduce himself to her formally as Spiderman. I'll post pics as soon as I get some taken - I'm still trying to remember how I got fed and dressed while nursing half the time. The coolest part - she looks a lot like me!

I'm the biased Mommy, of course, but I think she's the cutest thing since baby bunnies. This is Felicia at three days old - took me a while to upload images.

Daddy says not so much bossy as commanding, but either way I like her spirit - plenty of piss & vinegar, as my grandmother would have said. It runs in the family. Both sides. wink

My second one has quite a bit more attitude than the first. She's also much more vocal.

Yvaine And she's nice and bossy too! whee Daddy says not so much bossy as commanding, but either way I like her spirit - plenty of piss & vinegar, as my grandmother would have said. It runs in the family. Both sides. wink haa haa I know what you mean, i come from a strong Irish family and so does Andrew. Most of us in our family have tempers and are stumborn to the bones. She really is a beautiful baby, I can't wait to see my little Averi next month.
