It was the middle of the day and the sun was beating down upon the land. Most creatures were making their way to the watering holes to quench their thirst. The heir to the Kusini lands was no different in that aspect.
He had patrolled most of the pride's borders already and had found nothing of great interest. Nothing great ever really happened in these lands. At least not recently. His days had often consisted of him walking around the lands, checking everything to make sure there wasn't any trouble, and then resting by a watering hole. Was this how it was going to be once he was king?
The young male shook his head. He didn't want to think of becoming king just yet. His becoming king meant that his father was either dead or too ill to reign any longer. And there was the aspect of heirs that Tamu would have to get around to solving. A king couldn't go on without any to take his place once he was gone. Thinking of heirs made him think of a mate... he'd have to take one soon. This brought him to Masuka, the beautiful lioness...
The brown male arrived at the watering hole he often stopped at. It had clear, clean water, and it was always cool for some reason. Lowering his head, he lapped up the cool water, enjoying the sensation of it running down his throat.
Once his thirst was satisfied, he sat down and glanced around him. What to do now...

How long had she been in the lands now? A bit, actually. Her cubs had grown from bumbling little furballs into awkward juveniles(Or at least, her sons had), and now... She was starting to think of how they'd be leaving the proverbial nest soon. It made her yearn for cubs again, just to keep something close to her side and keep safe.
Her paws, one holding a limp and all badly scarred, followed a worn path towards water. The river didn't seem propper to drink from, not to her. Her black nose twitched as she drew closer and smelled another. Age was catching up and she hadn't emediately noticed the presence. The male held roughly the same scent as Asi, and as she drew closer, she figured it was one of his children. The chocolate male, she noted, was indeed Asi's son. Silver-ended tail flicking, she approached slowly.

As he glanced around, he spotted another of his kind making its way towards him. He narrowed his eyes, attempting to get a better look and perhaps see if he could recognize who it was. The other drew closer, but Tamu found that he still could not put a name to the face. Perhaps it was just one of the lions in his father's pride that he hadn't formally met. Yes, that must be it.
As she approached slowly, he rose to his paws and dipped his head in a polite greeting. Despite being heir to the throne of the Kusini lands, he didn't feel quite like royalty. He felt he was equal to everyone else and he had to pay respect to everyone around him.
"Good afternoon, miss," he greeted her politely, his tail flicking with curiousity. She was rather pretty, and he wondered why he hadn't met her before. He made a mental note to take tabs on all in the pride, since he would be ruling over them one day.
"What brings a lady such as yourself out here?" he asked. One might have thought he was flirting, but he wasn't actually in the least. It was merely his way.

Gray ears perking, the dark lioness bowed in return. "Good afternoon to you." As she neared the water, she smiled at the male. "A safe place to live brings me to these lands with three cubs, and thirst brings me to this particular spot." As if to prove this point, she lowered her head and lapped at the water, allowing a deep, rumbling purr to escape her throat. Since she'd arrived, she'd been feeling more and more like her old self, less like a skittish recluse. But she hadn't fully recovered from the mental trauma caused by her encounter with both the hyena and the blue lion, thus she kept herself on a low note around the lands.

Tamu nodded in understanding to her. He had talked with Masuka and had found that the silver lioness had come to this place for the same reason as the one in front of him this moment. It seemed that the Kusini lands were a haven for those who had no other place to go. And that was completely alright with him. He liked the fact that this place was considered safe and a good home.
Flicking his tail, he purred slightly to her. "These lands are a wonderful place to stay, aren't they? I'm glad my parents brought me here." He lifted his head slightly and looked up at the blue sky. Things had gotten better since his family had made the move to these lands. Before, there had always been spats between him and his brother. But here... things had settled down with him and Denahi. And now his evil brother was gone, off in whatever place. It was better that way.
Letting his gaze focus back on the lioness, he smiled warmly. "I'm sorry, I don't believe I caught your name.."

Flushing lightly, the lioness smiled meekly. "WHere are my manners...? I am Ishara." The dark sign... She dismissed the thought. "I hope these lands prove good for myself and my three children, as well." She chuckled lightly, thinking of the three. "Sairin seems to have taken well to one of the local cubs... And Ihlo and Tota have settled in pretty well as well..." She didn't know it, but her current litter was something like Asi's own first - Her two sons and her one daughter. But she thought not of this fact she knew not. She had no idea just how many children the coffee-colored lion had, nor how many other descendants. There was only the here and now.
