this is just a STARTING Guide on money making withing Vana'diel
i'll be updating this as i find more areas to farm.

Moat Carp (Usually sell 4k/stack in any server) you can obtain them via Fishing Rod / Little Worms in FreshWater

Tahrongi Canyon

Beehive Chips - Bees drop these, i've had alot of luck within Tahrongi to obtain these items.

Seeds - Strolling Saplings drop these, Vegetable, Herb, and Grain are what they drop, it's just all luck of the draw.
Seeds CAN be stollen from a Sapling

Saruta Cotton - Pyagomi drop these, most servers have them set at a nice price, due to them becoming Cotton Cloth, and used in decent level synths
Cotton can be Stollen from Pyagomi

La Thiene

Sheep Wool - this is a tricky little money scheme, to do this without a massive payroll cut, it's best if you're 30+ and can farm Wind Elementals safely without the risk of death
Wind Crystal + 2 Sheep Leather = Sheep Wool
now mind you, this takes alot of time, but it's a level 0 Leathercraft Synth, so anyone can pull it off - from the areas i've seen, alot of servers also sell this for a nice price

Sleepshrooms - This is a nice trick smile Fungaurs drop this item all around La Thiene Plataeu, so it's not hard to obtain.

Valkurm / Highlands

Lizard Skin Lizards in Valkurm / Konschtat drop this item, i've heard it goes from anywhere from 5k-10k if luck is on your side

Gustaberg/Sarutabaruta/Ronfaure

Crystals Now - these are easiest to obtain while you have level 1-10 jobs, but it is not in any mean a bad money maker. Fire, Wind, Dark, Light, and Lightning go decently. as a starting player, you should either sell these, or start a synthetic craft to start getting levels.

~*~35+~*~
the following areas are meant for level 35+ to SAFELY farm without a massive risk of (|you can have this.|)(|death|)

Pashhow Marshlands

Tree Cuttings - Goobbues Drops these tasty little plantable items, you can make money from this in several ways

*Stack them, Bismarck sells around 55k/stack, and as a nice and upgradable drop, i'm sure it goes nicely on other servers as well

*Make them into Saplings - i believe if you Plant on a lights day, and check your Cutting for about two weeks (check every 24 hours) you'll get a sapling if you harvest on a full moon. by making it into a sapling, you can Grow Elemental Ores - which run a nice price

Beehive Chips - As in Tahrongi, or Konstchat. you can farm these, and sell them. they're a decent drop.

Jugner Forest

Tiger Fangs - name says it all, pummel the Tigers in the area, and yank their teeth. the quest gives 2.1k i think, for 3

2,100
......4
_____
8,400 a stack.

Nice guide, did i inspire you to make this, hmmm, oh well. Oh, and i dont think the dunes are the best place to farm lizards, cause there are thousands of pts blaugh after those things, and you will be getting a lot of hate, and i dont mean by the monster.

They probably drop it a bit more than the KH or South G. lizzies, and aren't as high level as the ones in Crawler's Nest. i.e. you won't die being hit by a massive train of them. eek

-Bumps-

People need to see this.

Anywhoo, here's my input:

Ghelsba Outpost for those who are above lvl. 50-ish (Just for safety)

o_O;

Farm WAR LIZARDS and Bee's.

There are 2 NM's that psawn around the areas you'll be farming and running across with.

One drops the Warrrior's Axe: About 10k

One drops a Mantle/ Spear: They go around 5k (I cna't remember I just guessed lol)

And there's a 'rare spawn', an Orcish Firebelcher. Drops the Sereptine Gun. About 15-10k on some servers.

If you've got THF Subbed, then you can steal Silver Beastcoins from the lower lvl orcs.

So let's add up the minimum profit you'll be getting assuming you get the drops from the NM's and the Rarespawn.

-Lizard Skins: 8k-ish

-Beehive Chips: 4k-ish

-Warrior's Axe: 10k-ish

-Spear/Mantle from NM: 5k-ish

-Sereptine Gun: 10k-ish

-Silver Beastcoins: 5k-ish (A stack)

Total: 42k

And my friend got about one stack of lizard skins, 3 stacks of beehive chips, 2 stacks of beast coins, sometimes he got the warrior's axe, sometime's he got the spear/mantle, and rarely he got the sereptine gun.

ADVICE FOR LOW LEVEL IN BASTOK

low level quests have worked well for me in Bastok (if you start there) as far as making gil goes
Zurhun mines are good in my opinion -- take a pick to mine (you can buy one for about 200 gil in the first shop in the mine section of town), kill some monsters, mine some mining points, pick up three soots and you can get a quest for them (150 gil, not a ton, but it's easy money if you're already there). The mining has made me truly blessed -- I got a lot of silver and some darksteel (very lucrative) out of it at very low level and sold them.
You can probably also get a stack of batwings or earth crystals which you can then sell.

o.O *Slaps Bryann without much strength* I could've sworn you just added that tigers part...Heh...Taking it from what I've said, eh? Ah well. The decent way to make gil for a 35+. Actually, lets not forget Carpenter's Landing that also has tigers. Same lvl tigers as in Jugner Forest I believe or at least close. Also, it's not Tiger Fangs but Black Tiger Fangs ^^;

There's also the Flytraps. I think someone from my ls said that the leaf they drop (Flytrap Leaf or something of the sort) sells for nearly 1200 G to a NPC or something...I know in the AH on Kujata they are around that price range so the Flytraps are nice to kill. There's also orcs inside Carpenter's Landing to kill for gil drops.

Now...I think a 35+ can also take on the Walking Trees in Jugner Forest. Mistletoes sell for a pretty penny alone along as a stack. On Kujata, they're 4,000 G single and 50,000 G a stack due to them being part of the craft, Alchemy, in making a Remedy. Not sure on other recipes it's used in but that's the only one I've found that would sound reasonable for their high price. Now...I'd suggest going at this as a THF main or with THF subbed since the mistletoe is a rare drop for the most part. One time when I was farming Treants (same family as the Walking Tree) in Batalia Downs, I had only obtained 5 mistletoes from 26 Treants in 5 or 6 hours I believe. Respawn time on Treants is around 10 minutes so it's possbily the same as the Walking Trees in Jugner.

That's about all I can think of that could be a nice addition of information to know.

me, use other people's suggestions :O Never!

actually, i was farming fangs earlier myself, and decided to add it.

but i will throw up the Flytrap Leaves, and the Misseltoe O.o (Walking Trees scare me, so i avoid them like the plaque)
PostPosted: Thu Jan 06, 2005 1:32 pm

Heh. Yeah...Sometimes safe to avoid them. They swing like mad >< Unless you can deal high dmg, cure yourself, evade real well, or have great DEF and/or VIT, then they shouldn't be a problem. Now if you got the tree to yourself with no one within range of you and you're subbing THF and it's 15+, then SA would really be handy.
