Kilah said nothing for a moment. "It's fine," she assured her friend, stacking all the movies up and pushing them to the side until she felt them hit the wall. "Listen, I might change if I grow up, which is soon. I know it's soon because my feathers are starting to fall out again. So if I start acting like Mignon I need you to take me out." It wasn't that Kilah didn't like Mignon, she just didn't want to be like her...
Holding Twila under her arm as if she was a sack of potatoes (not that she seemed to mind), Lucky raised an eyebrow, shrugged, turned and waved with her free hand. "Yeah, I guess you could say that." Noyama's friends were almost sweet enough to give you diabetes. Eesh..

Taryn wrinkled up her nose and stared at Kilah. Take her out? She kind of doubted that she would ever do that, but she nodded all the same. A nicer Kilah was an odd thought. It would probably be freaky come to think of it.
"Okay.. it would be wierd if you acted like Mignon", she admitted with a giggle. "But why do you think you'll change? When I grow, only my body changed. I'm still Taryn", she added while patting her stomache.
Dia was going to say more when her eyes suddenly lit up. "Oh Noya! I almost forgot to tell you the news", she said while walking over to lightly touch her friend's arm.

"Just a thought..." Just a thought Kilah had more and more. Everytime one of her feathers fell out it, it was just a reminder. Kilah didn't like change, even if it was changing herself, aka 'growing'. After all, her sisters told her all the time when they took her as to that island as a baby she was different, and she came back like this. That was fine with her, Kilah liked the way she was, but she didn't want to change again...
"Weird's not the word I was looking for." It'd be...disturbing. Lucky had said, after meeting Mignon, she figured Kilah would be the kind to beat the ones like her up. Surprise, surprise. "I think Mignon might, too. Last time my feathers fell out we got big at the same time."
With no Lucky, and Twila no longer crying, Noyama happily perked her ears up. Ahh, the freedom to raise your ears! She tilted her head at Dia's words, obviously curious. "Sister Dia has news for Noyama?"

Taryn frowned a bit at Kilah's response. She didn't seem too enthusiastic about growing up. Quite the opposite from Taryn actually. She was looking forward to getting bigger, and being able to do more things without Dia. She hated to be treated as a baby.
"Well.. good thing about change is that you'll be taller.. and can do more adult things", she pointed out while tapping her finger to her chin. "And people can't call you 'shrimp' or 'pint size' anymore", she added while grumbling the last part.
Taryn recieved too many cracks from her oldest sister Squishler. She couldn't wait for the day that she would be close in size with her. She wouldn't dare tease her then.
"I can't wait to see Mignon and you when you guys grow. I bet you'll both look very pretty".
Dia's expression changed to a sullen one, as she sighed. "I'm going to be leaving soon.. me and the girls. A family friend has fallen ill, and I'm the only one able to take care of her". She paused as a hand pushed her loose hair away from her face. "I wanted to tell you now, because I might not get another chance".

"If anyone called me that I'd kick them in the shins." In reality Kilah had no idea if that should be taken as an insult. Around here no one really teased each other. Of course, she and her sisters screamed at each other every twenty minutes, but they didn't call names, with the exception of claiming the other was "stupid" every now and then. Pretty? "Pretty? Maybe, I don't care. I'm sure we're all pretty." Except Aard. Ick.
Noyama's ears lowered a little, and with a curious tone but somewhat sad look she asked, "Sister will be gone forever? Kilah be very sad if Taryn go away forever!"
