You can not tend to your chocobo for a few weeks and it will run away

no it wont die.
I raised my old choco to day 44, got a choco whistle then never checked it again.. well.. i did check it again.. 30minutes of cutscenes to day 98...
it didn't run away >_>; and then i said byebye choco and now i am raising a new one ^^ hoping for Red~
