Well, that sucks. sad I was once "let go" from a job I'd held for a week because the position "didn't fit" me.

I doubt it had anything to do with my weight, but I really hate it when companies are vague like that.

._. What was the job?

You can actually ask them for the exact reason they let you go, they're required to give it to you. When I went to interviews and was asked why I was let go from the theater the only reasons I got were 3 auditoriums didn't get cleaned (which was a lie) and "you're lazy" which was also a lie since that manager didn't like me because he knew I thought he was incompitent and that he knew I should've had his job.

The point being, if I went and asked for the exact reason they'd have to give it to me.

We all have to understand we're only getting half of the story here. We're only getting what She said happened, not what the manager said has happened, or the real reason she was let go.

Even if she was fired for being overweight, we don't know how overweight she was. Being a waiter myself, you have to move quickly and through tight aisles (especially when children are in high chairs so it makes it hard to move around those tables). I can see someone who's 350+ having problems with those tight spaces while carrying food.

Waiting tables is a blue collar job. Its manual labor. Therefore, if you cannot perform the job well enough, you can be let go.

As much as I love big women, and I understand her pain, theres just some jobs that aren't suited for them. Now if it was a white collar job, it'd be a whole different story from me.

I was a pricer for a tourist company.

I was just in the "try-out" period, so they didn't have any obligation to tell me what was going on. Still, I wish they had.
