Indra

This was bound to be interesting. Keeping to his personal pledge Indra had found the drive to leave the house and venture forth into the shop. It had been what, two months since last he had been here? Hmph, more like three. And from what he could see through a pane of glass it was bustling more than he had ever seen it in the past. Perhaps coming during the daylight hours hadn't been such a bad idea after all.

By the usual methods he found his way into the shop within a matter of minutes. Did he recognize anyone? Nope. Not a face. What was the next step then, if he couldn't just raise and hand and say "ho!" to an acquaintance? Akward...

Still a little unsure of himself Indra chose to drift towards one of the counters. True, there was nothing new there are first glance, but a fresh visit at least kept him from looking like an idiot standing in the middle of the shop waiting to be stepped on.

This venture, of course, brought him in close proximity to Ryuu. He smiled and nodded in her direction as he peered though the glass beneath his feet to the objects below.

Ryuu
The yellow feien caught Indra and his wave from the corner of her eyes, then turned to give him both a wave, and a warm smile, inviting him over if he wanted to.

Indra
It seemed a little contrived, but who was he to argue the intentions of others. It wasn't like his interest had been held in the particular spot he was in, so gracefully he strode over to where the young she-feien stood. "Good afternoon, miss."

Ryuu
"Same to you, too." She grinned. alot of new faces today. She sat on the glass, peering up at Indra. "And you would be ?"

Indra
At that he had to blink. He had never anticipated the things would progress so quickly... so simple. However he recovered long before anything could be seen as amiss. "My name is Indra. I've been around for some time, just not... around."

His long ears were beginning to pick up snippets of the conversation that had been in progress before he arrived. He sensed that it wasn't rolling towards a favorable conclusion. He made note of this and continued the introduction at hand. "And you, miss?"

Ryuu
"Ryuusei, and pleased to meet you." She smilled, but that smile faded as she eyed Simon and Sunil. It didn't seem like this would end well, she also had that thought... And her common sence told her not to get mixed up into it. If she did, it was likely she couldn't get out of the mess.

"I don't come around a whole lot either... mostly because of the snow and the cold. There was a snowstorm where I live some time ago, it got so bad that you couldn't even see outside. Everything was just white."

Indra
"That I understand perfectly. Cold and I... we have very little to speak about. Our meetings are sparse and brief if I can help it." He looked about, trying to find something he might lean against as they spoke instead of plopping onto the frigid glass. "This rain, however, I believe I like. I've read of warm places where the rain falls even as it evaporates from the leaves and ponds. That is weather I would very much like to see."

And then his attention was spun full over to the development in Glass-capades. In his mind, he comprised a list of various outcomes and how he might defuse each. Choice phrases selected, he was prepared to jump in if needed.

Ryuu
"I like air, but not cold air like right now. I believe what you're talking about would be stream, Indra. Z told me about it when she was making tea. When water reach a certain temperature point, it becomes lighter than air, gaz instead of liquid, and soars up... I think. Her explaination was like greek, so that's all I kinda understood of it."

She didn't seem to mind the glass at all, sitting on the edge and letting her legs hang in the air, her yellow feathered wings closed against her back, having no use to keeping them spraid out as she wasn't using them at the moment.

Indra
He smiled in response. Of course he had known exactly what he was talking about, but he wasn't going to begrudge her explanation of the simple process. He appreciated that she was eager to share her knowledge even if it was of things he had learned long ago. In return, he would do the same.

"I'm quite intimate with concept of steam, down the element in fact. My bond jokes that all she needs to summon me is to set a kettle on the burner. But, what I am referring to a place. There are these forests, far south from here, where the sun lends the most warmth to the earth. They are tropical... muggy... steamy. The also have the strangest inhabitants... things to rival even what we find around here."

He was, of course, referring to wide range of exotic fauna that seemed to be the vice of bonds. Wasabineko had managed to keep a healthy cap on her collection... but he had heard rumours...

Ryuu

After that, trough, she glanced at the time, and her tiny orange eyes whidened.

"Oh, im sorry, but I need to go..." She got up, looking a bit sad. "I hope to see you later, you're nice to be around ! See you, Indra !"

With this, Ryuusei took off by the same way she came in.

Indra
That was fleeting... Pleasant... but fleeting. Perhaps it was a good thing that he hadn't had the chance to get comfortable...

Indra
Just as Val was scanning the room, Indra happened to be looking straight at her. The result was a perfect, uninterrupted connection. He gave a short wave and a cheeky smile, feeling a bit like an intruder on the whole exchange.

Valsharess
Val blinked at the boy fairy and then waved back. She hovered over to where he was and wiggled her toes a bit, hands once more clasped behind her back. "Hello. I am Valsharess, boy-feien. Who are you?"

She looked him over and tried to attach what he looked like to various feien descriptions she'd heard in her head. He sure had pretty hair though!

Indra
As strange as the greeting was, it wasn't something he was entirely unprepared for, having listened in on the previous conversation. Actually, he almost welcomed this sort of lively exchange, even if he had to think double time to keep up. "My name is Indra, Miss She-Feien-Valsharess." He snapped his fingers in instant recognition. "The gift. You and I have met before... even if only through the exchange of cosmetics."

Valsharess
Val smiled a bit wider at the greeting and bobbled her head and let her earrings jingle. "Oh! Indra! I know your name! A face to a name.. or a name to a face.. name-face face-name."

She finally set herself down beside him on her feet, "You were my not-so-secret-because-I-revealed-my-identity Santa! Did you enjoy your gift and use it? Your hair is very sparkly-shiny so I hope so. I hope I made the right decision in it's creation."

Indra
"Yes I have made plenty of use out of your gifts and am very grateful. I only wish I might have been your..." He stumbled over the wording with a smile, "...your still-secret-because-I-wasn't-really-your-santa-so-my-identity-is-safe-santa so I could reciprocate your thoughtful present. Perhaps I can give you a gift for another occasion or just for fun."

She seemed to be a very kind soul. He couldn't see why the two elders seemed to regard her with such disdain.

Valsharess
Val rocked on her heels and wiggled her toes again. "Oh that would be special, spiffy, and all together lovely I think. Though it is unnecessary. I never got my secret santa gift as a recipient. I don't mind though. I know people are very busy and distracted and may be weird about giving a stranger a gift!"

The feien girl tucked her bangs behind her ear and looked around. "Are you the only one here? Weren't you speaking with another? Not that it matters or you have to tell me. I would be perfectly content not to know as well as I would be to know."

Indra
It was a little sad, that she had worked so hard to create a gift for him only to receive nothing in return. He made a mental note to rectify the situation as soon as he was able.

He didn't have to look over his shoulder the answer her question. "I do believe we are the only survivors of this afternoon. Miss Ryuu has gone on her way... to where I don't know. Will you be here long?"

Valsharess
"I don't know. Halo is very odd and unpredictable. She will come by when it is convenient for her. If she doesn't cme at all then I can stay as long as I'd like!" Val tugged her earring idly. She had a habit of that now.

"I will stay and keep you company if you'd like. Do you happen to know anything about magic?"

Indra
"No knowledge that I haven't gained from just experimenting. Nothing formal. I would like to find someone who does someday, but it seems they are far and in between." His eyes caught the glints of metal sparkling through the strands of her hair. "Are those...? I've only seen those on bonds before now."

Valsharess
"Earrings." She shook her head and the hoops bobbled. "Gallium did them. She's shiny. A mendel. She likes piercings and tattoos and wanted to try to pierce so she did my ears. Do you like them? She will pierce you if you want. She'll pierce anyone, anywhere."

Val tilted her head. " I want to learn magic. I don't know how to do it really."

Indra
He gave a short nod, more to himself that to Valsharess. Chances were, this was a new friend. That wasn't nearly as hard as he thought it would be...

Journal Entry, April 5, 2005

In near six months of life I realize that I have not yet written in this journal from my own mind. Tonight I figure I will do away with the omniscient presence that has translated my thoughts and actions in the past and just speak freely of the things that I have done and felt over the recent weeks.

Berra is gone. I know that now. As more and more facts filter their way through their various channels I am given more proof that what was and what could have been is gone. Is it wrong of me to think this? No, because if I am incorrect than that is all the more of a pleasant surprise that awaits me on her return.

Besides. It wasn't like there was ever any understanding between us. If anything, our relationship was based on continued misunderstanding. Misunderstanding of the people, things and realities that surround us.

Ms. Wasabineko has mentioned to me that due to a mixed up series of events, she will soon have another bloom in her possession. However, because of the constraints of time and I suspect a feeling of failure on her part with me, she does not plan to keep it. This lead to yet another disagreement between us, of which there have been a few lately. Unable to think of anyone to give it to, her last recourse is to sell it, either through the shop or independent of it. I've made clear my feelings on the bartering of my kind. She has tried to twist the truth of it to make it more appealing to me. She tells me that if someone is willing to part with goods, then it suggests that they are willing to make sacrifices for the sake of a feien

I think she's just looking for a way to pay next semester's tuition

I got over it, as I do. When the bloom comes and goes, I imagine I will get over it all over again. There is a little part of me that wants to champion for its cause, but I am sure that if I leave myself open to such vigilante feelings, I'll find more causes than I could ever hope to address.
