The concept:

Her skill lays with the rope. She can lasso and do all sorts of rope tricks. She can do this at the beggining when she joins the circus because she grew up on a cattle ranch and thus these skills she was taught at a young age.

Eventually her skill with the rope will improve and she will move into more complicated routines, perhaps have a partner involved (for some of the tricks). Eventually her skills will develope into bigger and much more dangerous things. She likes a challange and thus will eventually get into
becoming a Trick Rider.

Character Name: Cossette Du Levrie

Appearance: Standing at 5'9 she was taller than her four brothers by an inch. Her hair is long an orange red, some would call it rust colored. Her eyes are fairly big and expressive, as well her lips. Tall but certainly not thin, the muscle she had gotten cattle ranching with her family has gotten her fully developed leg and arm muscles. Some often mistake her for a boy. She often wears your typical cowboy hat, though hers has a silk ribbon tied around the base. The ribbon is red, the hat is black. She is not one for dresses, though she will wear one if the occasion needs it. She is more comfortable in full chaps and a shirt, of course there are pants under those chaps, the chaps are black as well as her pants, shirt is normally a dull gray color.. Can't forget her black boots, with a low heel of course, who can ranch in heels anyway?

Personality: Some would say she was bull headed. Once she puts her mind to something it is hard to sway her off the path, even if it leads to her destruction. Good natured on the whole, she knows when to take a joke and when it has gone too far. Always up for a challenge she isn't afraid to try new things. She is pretty hard on herself though and even though she gives good advice to others she tends to not follow them herself.

References: Her almost perfect normal wear/Costume top for Rope Clown/Costumes pants for rope clown/Rope Contortunist

World and History:
Her parents originally came from Canada but when the cattle industry went down because of 'mad cow' they sold their ranch and bovines and decided to make a fresh start in Texas.
But a cattle rancher will always be a rancher at heart and thus they started the business again. The year is 1984 and things are looking good. Cossette had decided to become a member of the Circus when she discovered her talent for roping. While at first her practice was to get better as lassoing bovines, she soon fell to distraction and would practice other tricks that were not nearly as helpful. Deciding she would try and make her fame doing something other than ranching she went out and applied to Cirque du Coeur Torve.

Not sure what you're going for here, but I'd just like to mention that the "rope dancer" you have linked is has nothing to do with rope or dancing - it's contortion in a net. The act consists of a lot of things you might see done with an aerial strap or even a handbalancing act - and after seeing it live twice I don't really know how it could be called "rope dancing." In fact I've never heard of rope dancing O_O. But I look forward to hearing about the act biggrin .

I have watched it, I find it really interesting. 'dancing' probably isn't the best word to use XD but when I watch it , it is like seeing something very wonderful in slow motion. Such grace and strength all i can think of is dance. Can you suggest another word?

ANd yaaaaah i got approved XD

Well, I don't really know what you're going for... the contortion in the net is a pretty unique as I recall, and like I said it combined aspects of both handbalancing and aerial strap. Maybe you're thinking of aerial strap? It's like an elastic bungee cord that the performers use to do... a whole lot of things.

(Hooray, I'm generic!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOMlmcZGCRk Here we are. This is from the same show that the contortion in the net was from. But it doesn't need to be partnered - if you want an example of a REALLY good aerial strap up, look up the segment from Alegria by Cirque du Soleil. I tried to find it but I couldn't. :C
