Maybe it's just because Judaism doesn't really care about what happens after you die, but I never understood the point of the whole 'being saved' thing. I mean, why should it matter so much in the here and now where we'll end up when we're dead? It's not like we have a clue what's beyond this existance anyway.
But people can be stupid and not see the importance of this life. So instead they'll try to put people down. Whatever. I just don't see a point to it, since it's not like we know what's coming when we die.

Not to shoot down christianity but I noticed it was a power play religion. Think back to Roman times, Who were the most numerous? The kings or the servants. The slaves, get them to belive you and believe it or not you have an entire civilization in your hands. Thus it is simple make the lowest feel special, they devote their life to your cause, and then by word of mouth it spreads like wild fire.
