WavetheHedgehog (11:01:32 PM): Koda watched Lefika's wandering eyes. Smiling warmly, he nodded as his mate spoke. "Of course! I was just saying i'd probably make it more comfortable for us. Since i'm not the biggest fan of caves, i'd make me feel a lot better." He grinned, and continued following her. The jungle was a wonderful place to raise cubs, nonetheless. The vast amount of hiding places were always a plus!
VoiceOfDoom1739 (11:08:41 PM): Lefika smiled warmly as she listened to him. Koda always knew how to make her feel better; he was like that. She paused to turn back and look him in the eyes. "I know, dear. I know." Her eyes glittered with affection. Turning back to look on where she was going, she spied a rock face along the side of a hill. Curious, she trotted forward, investigating the rock face, studying it with her eyes, sniffing it for signs of other creatures. There was the smell of some small mammals over it, but it seemed to be relatively untouched by lions or leopards. Then, though she was not precisely watching where she was going, she haulted. She KNEW there was something to trip over at her feet. Looking down, her eyes lit up. There was an opening, low to the ground, in the rock face. She looked back at Koda. "You should come see this!" she called.
WavetheHedgehog (11:12:47 PM): He followed behind his mate, like a dog on a leash. The moment Lefika flew to the opening, Koda found himself in a rush to follow. "What is it?" He curiously peered over, eyes widened. "So, did you smell any weird scents near this?" He cautiously asked her, because if something was living around here, it was best to leave it be. Besides the sudden thoughts, he liked the look of what he saw. "This looks beautiful, Lefika. How about we take a look inside?" He curiously leaned in to peek about.
VoiceOfDoom1739 (11:19:51 PM): She shook her head vigorously in response to Koda's question, though her eyes were fixed solidly on the opening. "No, nothing," she replied. "It smells clean. Nothing has been living in here but maybe some ratels..." She grinned, feeling more heartened by the minute. At Koda's suggestion she nodded eagerly. "Yes, let's. Excuse me, dear." She wiggled right by her mate, not meaning to be rude, but eager to explore. She got down on her belly and wormed her way in. It was a bit snug going in, but it widened out comfortably as she got further. In fact, once she reached the deepest part, there was more than enough room to stand. She laughed gleefully. "Koda, love, come down here! It's perfect!"
WavetheHedgehog (11:23:02 PM): Koda excitingly followed behind Lefika. Even his chubby self managed to wiggle its way through the opening. That was good! He was amazed when he stood back up on all fours. The space inside the cave was beyond amazing. It was astonishing! He was shocked by the cave, and that it was even empty in the first place. Ah well, someone elses loss. He padded up beside his mate, with a wide smile. "Lefika, this is perfect!"
VoiceOfDoom1739 (11:29:06 PM): In a stunning change of character for the usually steely and aloof Lefika, she giggled giddily at her new home and hopped a bit in place, as best she could without hitting her head on the ceiling, anyway. She turned and buried her head in her mate's mane, nuzzling him. "Oh, it really is," she murmured... then pulled back briefly, only to look him in the eyes and say, "But anywhere would be perfect as long as I get to share it with you." She shoved her face back into his mane, overwhelmed with emotion. "I am never going to let you go..." she whispered.
WavetheHedgehog (11:36:38 PM): Koda just simply found himself snuggling with Lefika. Smiling warmly, he looked into his mate's eyes. "I'm glad you feel that way, Lefika." He nuzzled the lioness on the head gently, than licked her on the cheek. "I'll never let you go, either." He clung to his mate, never to let her leave his sight again. "... ... I love you, Lefika."
VoiceOfDoom1739 (11:40:02 PM): A single, happy tear rolled from the corner of Lefika's eye and into Koda's fur, unseen. She licked him back and sighed contentedly, "I love you too..." Then, looking around the cave, murmured, "Our home... our family..." She ended there. Nothing else needed to be said, and Lefika had never been one to throw around unneeded words. Finally, the lady who called everywhere her home was home, and this was it.
