Backstory
Kaen was the second child and first daughter to a pair of fox demons, or kitsune, in the demon realm. Early on, her parents began to notice that she could not control plant life, which was the typical ability of kitsune. Instead, she began to exhibit the ability to control metal, a skill which is found perhaps once every 4 generations of kitsune. Nevertheless, she still attempted to control plants but her skill in that field is incredibly limited. All she can really manage is to get blossoms to open, but her skill with metals, especially chains, developed very quickly.
When she was around 90 human years (5 kitsune years), her family was attacked by a group of demon hunters. Her brother, who is 200 years older (14 kitsune years), was off with one of his friends and escaped the attack. One demon hunter slashed Kaen across the back, cutting her from the base of her neck on the left to her right shoulder blade. Believing he had slicing her spinal cord, he went to help slaughter her parents. Kaen had managed to save herself by changing the shape of the blade as it cut her. When her brother came back, he took Kaen to a healer, and the two of them formed their own life.
Her brother and his friend formed a gang, which they ran together for 200 years. Her brother's friend, a crow demon named Kuro, fell in love with Kaen and she with him, which angered many members of the gang since Kaen was seen as a prize that lead to the controlling of the gang as she was the gang leader's sister. Her brother acknowledged the relationship and allowed for the two to get married, after making sure that Kuro knew that if he harmed her in anyway, he was gonna kill him in the typical big brother fashion. A few weeks before the wedding, Kuro was killed during a mission. Before he died, he gave Kaen's brother his pendant to give to Kaen, which she still wears.
After Kuro's death, Kaen rose to fill his place as second-in-command to her brother, although he did not allow her to go on missions. Eventually, when Kaen was 405, having just received her fourth tail, her brother took her along on a mission. As they were returning from the mission, a member of the demon hunter clan that had killed their parents attacked and her brother made Kaen run away. She ran as far as to be out of the battle, but watched as her brother was cut down. After his death, she took control of the gang, though her heart wasn't fully in it. When she turned 415, she dissolved the gang.
Not long after, she was wandering around in the Forest of Time when she was attacked by yet another demon hunter, this one focused on gaining her pelt. Not having the strength or skill to kill a hunter on her own, she injured him with her chans enough to cripple him and ran, until she fell into the portal that separates the demon realm from Gaia. In that forest, she met Sapphire and learned about the Demented Muffin, which she wandered to after a while.

Flaw: very nervous when first meeting people because of her race

Family: clan scattered, parents deceased; cousin Blay'nurek, adopted by Kaen and Akeno as little sister

Backstory
Fyr'rose was born to a clan of were-tigers on a planet called Jade, a planet colonized by humans and magic races that wished to isolate themselves from technology. (Note: Jade is a creation of Fred Perry in his comic Gold Digger, which is where I got the inspiration for Rose.) When she was about 5 years old, the clan was attacked by a shadowy creature. All children were told to hide, which only helped some. Rose and about 10 others (children and adults) managed to survive, but they were scattered by the destruction that occured. Rose wasn't hurt badly, but her legs are scarred. She had uncontiously protected herself with a aura shield, thus discovering that she was one of the very few lycanthropes that actually had magical abilities. During the attack, she had gotten transported to Gaia and has since been wandering around trying to survive and find the rest of her clan.
