Escalla what do you mean by renting it out? Oops... I'm a little slow on the uptake. I never did answer this question.
Some forums "rent out" subforums to members who would like to do their own thing, but would like to do it in a subforum instead of their own guild. For example, a member may want to set up an RPG thread. I suppose the benefit would be that all the members of that guild would see it and perhaps want to join. It works pretty well in large guilds.

The user gives you some set amount of gold to have a subforum to use as they wish. It's usually a monthly payment plan.

hehehe yeah. hopefully in the future they'll allow us to use the guild funds for contests and stuff. that would be awesome.
